I worked at Navy Exchange full-time

    Pros

great networking opportunities, the job was right near where I lived and they have an outstanding loss prevention team.

    Cons

poor managerial skills from department managers, a lot of backstabbing and cutthroat behaviors happening behind the scenes and on the sales floor, employees often argued in front of customers, some departmental managers were stealing from the NEX and no one believed the employees who reported it.

    Advice to Management

Be professional and do your job with pride. You represent the NEX and you're provider a service to military service members and their families, carry yourself in a more respectable manor.

    Pros

    Benefits

    Cons

ABYSMAL PAY!!!!!!! (8 years in the company and still can't get an apartment at full time)
    Terrible management
Corporate destroyed this business. They take from associates to pad their pockets
    Micromanagement is awful
Unsafe work environment (broken AC, mold, pests, etc)

    Advice to Management

Learn that people will work for you and remain loyal if you pay them. If you don't stop treating associates like assets and realize they are people that work hard, they deserve to be paid as such.
Train managers better. They are cruel people.
