I have been working at Net eSolutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Cant beat the work culture and the leadership from business stand point rocks. There is a great learning curve by getting educated on the latest management skills, technical skills, latest trends in IT and within the scope of the business.

    Cons

They have amazing talent pool both at management side, leadership and technology front and can grow to heights in the scope of business which NETE is in. Its just that the younger gen should be given chance to advance things.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work.

    Pros

Great and helpful team members! Awesome office and location in Rockville! Best technologies and practices!

    Cons

NETE is a great successful company working for NIH. I will recommend this company to anyone. They are not big, but they take care of their employees very well.

    Advice to Management

I did not have any problems with management. They all do a great job to manage two locations. Our team is not so big, but very organized and productive.

    Pros

it is a job not a career.

    Cons

very stifling company. No processes, do not listen to ideas or suggestions. PTO and leave policies outdated.

    Advice to Management

Treat your people with respect, and bring leave policies to this century.

    Pros

Competitive salaries in the DC region

    Cons

Yearly review process is meaningless for creative talent. No opportunities for training, growth or knowledge sharing in the software development group.
Aggressive restrictions on non-work related IP. Personal time off policies are stuck in the 80s.

I worked at Net eSolutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company is growing and they have good Summer/Christmas events.

    Cons

Below are the 2 types of jobs at this company and during my tenure I experienced both. Even after being billable for more than 2 years and getting good reviews from client they let me and team go on the same day my contract ended. My recommendation is to treat this company as a recruiting/head hunter firm.

    1) Working at their corporate office

It is very hectic and expectations are unrealistic, had to work till late hours everyday. Biggest problem was we cannot take any breaks, even for a 30 min doctor visit I need to apply for leave and get approval.

    2) Working at client (mainly NIH)

Corporate office will ask you to work over time (after business hours) on other projects (which doesn't belong to your contract) and not pay you anything.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with little respect. Success won't last long if your employees are angry and unhappy.

I worked at Net eSolutions full-time

    Pros

    Great, hard working team members
    Diverse, international coworkers
All the Keurig coffee you can drink

    Cons

    Understaffed
Explicitly set people up to fail that they want to fire or put out to pasture
    Unconventional leadership
    Secretive
Pay is not competitive, nor are raises common

    Advice to Management

    Establish a mentor program
    Produce in-house processes
    Provide basic sick-leave
    Update telework policy

    Pros

Management culture is very comfortable, even family-like. Everyone from executive level management to to direct managers take a personal interest in your success and work to facilitate your growth. If you are the type of employee who takes pride in pushing yourself to exceed expectations, this is an ideal environment. Like all contract based consulting companies you have to look out for yourself. That said, if you demonstrate a commitment to the success of the business, company leadership will reciprocate with an above and beyond commitment to your success. Like many things in life--you get out what you put in, but the unique environment at NETE ensures unlimited opportunity for those who seek it.

Excellent benefits, plenty of great corporate events

    Cons

Not much PTO, and no sick leave--not competitive compared to other companies. Performance review frequency/structure is not clearly defined, or not to me anyway.

    Advice to Management

Increase PTO, allow sick leave to be separate from PTO. Set clear. achievable performance goals for employees to facilitate employee and corporate growth across the board.
