I have been working at Netsmart full-time

    Pros

Super committed to causes like Suicide Prevention and Emotional health.

    Cons

Do not seem to think in the middle game. A decision for today? Fine. Plan for next 5 years. Great. Budget needs for the next 6 months. Soup Sandwich.

    Advice to Management

Stop buying new companies and start investing in training and growth opportunities for your current employees. Long time folks are looking outside the company.

I have been working at Netsmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Travel, can work from home on some teams, many products to choose from, and I don't have any more .

    Cons

Culture of shaming and blaming others, not collaboration. Decisions are made purely based on short term profit, not long term viability of the products or relationships with customers. During the sales process, customers get all kinds of detailed attention but once they buy, they are basically ignored. The list of lawsuits from customers is embarrassingly long. Employees are treated as expendable, regardless of their experience or value. It's more important to agree with management blindly than it is to bring forward new ideas or innovations. Basically, everything they say about their culture is exactly the opposite of reality.

    Advice to Management

If they listed, I would, but management is threatened by new ideas.

I have been working at Netsmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Get to work with some great people. Almost no overhead bureaucracy slowing progress down.

    Cons

Wages are incredibly stagnate. Extremely limited opportunity for career advancement. Office woefully understaffed. Typically only a single developer and no QA working on a product. Upper management seems to intentionally run off any client they can't up sell to our more expensive products.

    Advice to Management

Start showing your employees you care about their well being by fully staffing teams with reasonably compensated employees. You're going to cause some really good people to burn out and leave if you don't start taking care of them.

    Pros

You are employed with little or no knowledge about anything.

    Cons

One word - Nepotism. Especially in professional services

    I worked at Netsmart full-time

    Pros

Free food and coffee, I guess?

    Cons

The position I interviewed and was hired for did not at all match what ended up being my day to day responsibilities. Was doing the job of 2-3 people. Little to no direction, or worse, totally conflicting instructions from various levels of management. I was there less than a year and had 3 different bosses, if that says anything. Was essentially forced out of my position by an upper level "untouchable". (HR and my boss acknowledged it but wouldn't address it) I've never lost a job before or since. As lots of other reviews have mentioned, not a good environment at all. HR was at least nice enough to give me a couple weeks to find a new position (they understood what was happening and that my performance was through the roof but someone higher up wanted me gone.)

I have been working at Netsmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Allows employees to work remotely from all over the country as well as any of their offices. Encourages to give back by providing 2 days off for all employees to use for volunteering. Great benefits and communication from all levels of the organization.

    Cons

Working remotely you miss out on what has been described by others as a great work environment and culture in the offices.

I worked at Netsmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They give you a laptop to use.
    Gain experience

    Cons

Management is the worst of any company I’ve seen. I worked in their Solon, OH office and it’s quite possibly the worst office environment I’ve ever been a part of. Management is so bad there that they don’t allow breaks, force you to ASK to use the restroom, constant badgering and micro-managing. You do the work of 5 employees because they won’t hire enough people to do the job. You have to beg and plead to take days off. You’re just a number and you’re opinion, although they will ask for it, does not matter.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with respect. Forcing them to feel as if their health and well being does not matter is not a way to retain your employees. Your Solon, OH office is being run by the most incompetent people I’ve ever seen in management and you need to clean house and replace them.
