      Pros

Good benefits and pay were good, but not worth the stress.

      Cons

No work-life balance, managers were not upfront and went downhill. I would never recommend working for this company. Veteran owned but no leadership. Worst place I worked for.

      Not the best company

      Pros

Direct Management was a pleasure to deal with (in 2018), but they have since moved on.

      Cons

They did not uphold or back what they said. Definitely let employees down as they go greedy for contracts.

      Pros

Management genuinely cares about me as an individual, supports career growth from within, as well as my personal circumstances and well being. Also pay seems to be higher than market rate for Charleston area.

      Cons

Not a lot of remote work option, but that is normal for the industry and required by contract

      Pros

      - Great People: I mean, wow! The people around here are super friendly. And the people I work with are very nice. - Very Chill - Potential to telework. - Keeps me busy: The work doesn't pile up, but there is plenty to do. - Operation Tempo in the Goldilocks Zone - Management is NOT micromanaging trolls - Not too many of those pointless meetings - The job pays within the industry market range for the location - Parking is easy - The lunch trucks are really good

      Cons

      - Location: North Charleston is just not a beautiful place to live. - Traffic: The traffic is pretty thick along many of the city freeways in the morning.

      Run away!

      Pros

      Excellent starting pay for beginners.

      Cons

This is a self-defeating organization with leadership in Atlanta. The upper management is rude and they care more about profit and politics more so than actually securing the government's network. Most great leadership would show concern at their extremely low glass door reviews but as you can clearly see here, the answers are defensive and accusatory. This is what it's like to work there. I recommend getting in here for a few paychecks if you're down on your luck and running away. The average length of employment here is less than a year.A monkey could break into any network protected by NSSPlus.

Really not a good place to work

Jan 22, 2018 - CyberSecurity Engineer in Falls Church, VA

      Pros

They seem to keep getting contracts somehow. (Thanks to their 8A status) I wouldn't hire them though.

      Cons

They'll pull you off the contract/job that you were hired for, and assign you to whatever else they just won. No matter what that does to your work/life balance. Surprise 2 hour commute! Surprise 75% travel, with 12 hour days including weekends! Even worse, they will expect you to keep it a secret from the customer on your prior contract. So when they don't know why you didn't show up for work one day (Because NSS reassigned you) you aren't allowed to explain yourself, because NSS doesn't want to lose the position. Instead you have to let it appear that you're dropping the ball. This is no way to treat professionals in the cyber security field. It's not hard to find another job at a company that will treat you well.

The cybersecurity contracting realm is a demanding and fast paced environment. At times, contracts may require long work days to ensure customer satisfaction. While the NSSPlus Management Team does respond to customer demands, every attempt is made to strike a balance to meet employee satisfaction. Employees are compensated for their time by way of highly competitive salaries and annual merit based bonuses. Everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion on Glassdoor. Unfortunately, not all opinion are supported with factual information. For example, within this company of nearly 200 employees, less than 4% are related to the CEO. The accusation that only family members are posting reviews is absurdly false and statistically improbable. And for informational purposes, Glassdoor actually encourages employers to solicit employee reviews and yes we do follow their guidance. Best to you in your future endeavors.

      Pros

There is no one good reason to work for such a toxic place

      Cons

If you are a woman and the CEO offer you the job, think twice before you take it.
