I worked at NorthPoint Solutions full-time

    Pros

    Just a small list:
Room to grow into many different positions
    Smart and capable Coworkers
    Competitive salary
Very Business elite (it is finance afterall)

    Cons

Each project really is the same.
Lots of duplicate work from project to project.
    Uninteresting work environment.
    Little to no

    Advice to Management

The move to the new office led to many of the managment who had been working at the old northpoint to be moved to cubicles. This made working on the "Northpoint" side of things difficult and felt very unfair.

I worked at NorthPoint Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Talented, smart coworkers, and interesting clients. Good opportunity to learn about Financial technology. Fellow grunts are friendly and very approachable.

    Cons

Heavy on the office politics. Depending on what team you get thrown on, your experience can be wildly different. Compensation wasn't competitive, and salary has increased 56% since leaving. Projects are approached with frantic patching to quickly resolve issues rather that putting effort into fundamental underlying flaws. It was like a daily fire drill. Just point to the left when assigning blame.

    Advice to Management

Management tends to lose sight of the forest focusing on the trees. Give employees feedback, training, and career direction. Time is wasted explaining comma placement in emails and what color shoes were worn to a client site rather than product implementation. Expectations are that you just put your head down and do what you are told with no consideration given to alternative solutions. Rampant micromanagement is counter productive to solution generation

    Pros

Good employee benefits and employee development programs

    Cons

Poor placement strategy when you are out of a project. If you are out of a client site after project completion, you are considered as an outsider with little support to join any other ongoing protects

    Advice to Management

Please support your people when they come out of a project and help them to move on to any existing project by providing proper training, guidance, time and motivation.
Please don't let them down and feel that you don't care them

I worked at NorthPoint Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Professional environment, many different projects, lots of growth.

    Cons

It's really a staff augmentation company, not a consulting company.
