I have been working at Openwave Computing full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    1) They do what they say and do not make false promises.
    2) They are transparent as far as pay is concerned and also show the contract document which specifies the amount they get.
    3) They pay on time.
    4) They hire candidates with real experience or with a masters degree from US and so, if you are competent, you can find a project fast.

    Cons

    1) No training provided to learn new technology.

    Advice to Management

If you guys provide training on new technologies, it would be easier to adapt to changing markets and hence get projects easily.

I worked at Openwave Computing full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They just got acquired recently so new management and that could fire things up. So take my "cons" with a grain of salt. But research how long the managers you talk to have been with the company. If they are carry-overs from before the acquisition, buyer beware. I hear their support organization has good management. I didn't work in that arena, but I hear it is good to work for.

    Cons

Absolutely no direction for years and they let product quality decline while never getting a good feel on the market place. New technologies/products were poorly managed and I saw many of them fail. The unfortunate thing is that upper management would always try to hype up the new products being developed within the Openwave organization. Because it was always hype, employee morale declined substantially and there was an immense amount of "brain drain".

    Advice to Management

Try and find some good Product Technologists and utilize all those patents.
