I worked at PDF Solutions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Intelligent people
    - Cutting edge technology

    Cons

    - Too much back door politics
    - Lower level management
    - Unpredictable and long hours
    - No life/work balance- be expected to put company before family
    - Disappointing compensation package

    Advice to Management

Talk to the lower level engineers. Talk to them candidly about what is REALLY going on. You might be surprised to learn that you got a few foxes guarding the henhouse that are making for a pretty toxic environment. This is still a fairly young company in the semiconductor game. If you're not careful, the reputation of the company will be tainted by a few bad apples.

Also, get your employees company credit cards for travel. Not everyone has good credit, or the available balance on their personal credit cards when they are asked to drop everything and fly across the world for what you think is going to be a week, but ends up being 6 months.

    Pros

Most coworkers are from top tire universities. People work there are energetic and willing to teach. If you are in a team with international client (e.g. GlobalFoundries), you got the opportunity to on-site and travel. Flexible working hours.

    Cons

Working over-time is an usual thing...Sometimes you have to do a mundane and boring report and spend long time in adjusting reports format. Also the skills and experience you gained in the company is not very universal so it might not be useful when it comes to changing the job...

    Advice to Management

Their management is ok so I'm not sure if there is useful advice to give. Managers are nice to the employees and satisfied employee's need as much as they can.
