- "The founder and everyone I've worked with are brilliant and highly competent people." (in 3 reviews)
- Current Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Senior Leadership focused on continuous improvement Core values are REAL Transparent Work-Life Flexibility Competitive Pay
Cons
Typical challenges of a company in growth mode - hiring/promoting the right people, at the right time. The company is averse to overly bureaucratic processes but some are needed to support growth - the challenge is finding the right balance.
- Former Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Great working environment Brilliant, approachable CEO Fantastic teamwork Life work balance is encouraged and respected Internal communication is valued.
Cons
There is a little bit too much micromanagement and control over each person's work product.

Pros
The company really lives its core values. If you are a person that is responsible and self motivated you will succeed at Pivot Point Security
Cons
Its a "sink or swim" environment. If you like being hand-held through your work, Pivot Point Security will be a challenging place for you to work.

Pros
Pivot Point is the best company that I have ever worked for. Corporate culture, from the very top down, is excellent. The interview process can seem a bit labyrinthine, and it can take a while. Pivot Point itself is filled some of the smartest, and finest, people I have ever worked with, not just on the consulting side, but the operations and sales sides as well. Work is interesting and challenging, and often quite complex. Many clients are long-term clients with whom a consultant can build a relationship. Very fun and supportive environment. Very idea-oriented environment. If you have an idea? Management will listen and take it seriously. Very flexible work environment.
Cons
Monetary compensation is average for the (burgeoning) information security field. Schedules can be highly variable. Although they try to balance one's schedule, the nature of consulting means that in one month you can be traveling 50% of the time, and in the next none. Sometimes the workload and deadlines are such that you'll be up to 10 PM finishing that report. Compensating for this is that other days? If your workload allows it and you want to take the afternoon off? Nobody is going to say a word about it. Pivot Point is still a smaller organization that is experiencing some growing pains, but they manage it well.

Pros
I've had a very positive experience working as a programmer at PPS during its early days (full-time 2003 - 2004; and part-time / research projects for a few years after that). The founder and everyone I've worked with are brilliant and highly competent people. I don't know what changed over the past decade, but at that time it was a very vibrant young start-up in a high-growth industry. I was able to work flexible hours / from home whenever possible.
Cons
None really. (At least not at the time when I worked there.) This is just my personal situation, but I found the work very stressful. After a couple of years I had to scale back my hours, and eventually left the industry. But I'm sure that this was not in any way due to PPS management.
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
Work-life balance sounds good. The company provides necessary consulting services for state & local governments, small firms in NJ & NY. Business model looks good.
Cons
Total compensation is low compared to work required, and not competitive to others in the industry. Management is oddly not responsive for a small supposedly "dynamic" firm. The firm will say one thing, but change the terms later.
- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
Very transparent environment so you know where the company is going and how it is doing and how you are doing, both good and bad. High degree of flexibility, you are effectively your own boss. Really smart people on the team. Diverse clients and projects. Work from anywhere company.
Cons
Definitely some growing pains. Internal processes need to be updated and better documented. Internal training is limited so you really need to be willing and able to figure stuff out.

Pros
Flexible work life balance. Great culture. Challenging work. Having a voice in organization.
Cons
Some stresses due to current growth rate.
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
Work from home Limited domestic travel
Cons
Management will lie about everything. The lies will be to your face and behind your back. The owner is extremely insecure. He only listens to those with blind faith in him even if they are unprofessional and/or incompetent to customers and coworkers. Employee "ratings" based on a rigged ranking system. The "leads" hand out assignments and give themselves points for work they do not perform. The "leads" ratings stay inflated due to this practice which has been reported multiple times and remains in place. The ratings determine how your work performance is viewed by management.

Pros
Flexible to a point. Get to travel.
Cons
Will get called on vacation. Poor communication. Poor management. Will tell you things and will not keep to their word.
