We value all of our employees and the value they bring to the business. Non-exempt employees use a timekeeping system to ensure they are paid fairly for hours worked in accordance with Federal FLSA ... More

I have been working at Purcell Systems full-time

    Pros

This is one of the cleanest and quietest shops I've seen in Spokane. It's mostly research and assembly, so no big noisy machines requiring ear protection, no respirators or toxic fumes, no missing body parts from a dangerous environment. Plus it's a M-F days kind of place to work. No swing or nights.

    Cons

Hourly employees need to go through a temp agency to get a foot in the door.

Thank you for your positive review - Purcell Systems has an exceptional safety record for the industry and the Spokane demographics.

I worked at Purcell Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The hard working worker bees are all super. Management? not so much.

    Cons

Managers and team leads don't know how to manage. There is no sense that the company wants different teams/areas to work together....they talk about it but it never really happens. There's a lot of finger-pointing when things go wrong and that happens frequently. New parent company (Enersys, 2 years ago) didn't seem to understand the fluctuating industry they were getting into. Once Enersys took over, benefits were cut. When production has no work, they are sent home on work share and ultimately lose out. Expectations are unreasonable. Managers keep asking for more but offer no advice on how to do more work in the same amount of time, or even less. Many deadlines are at best "suggestions" and targets are unreasonable.

    Advice to Management

Take a pay cut yourself before you lay off any more hard working worker bees.

Purcell Systems has embraced T.E.D.* (*The Empowerment Dynamic) in a culture that emphasizes Continuous Improvement and Respect for People.

    Pros

Like the commitment and effort of all the employees to support a commitment to creating a culture that is success oriented.

    Cons

Not much. You need to be prepared to be held accountable. Not bad, just reality.

  9. "The worst company I have ever worked for"

    • Comp & Benefits
    • Senior Management
    Current Employee - Sales Manager
    Current Employee - Sales Manager
    Doesn't Recommend
    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

To understand what it is like to work for an unethical company.

    Cons

Senior management stole sales compensation and changed sales plans at will. The management at Purcell Systems is dishonest, greedy and unethical. They fired sales employees each year in order to prevent the company from paying commissions and reward themselves with healthy senior management bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Quit before a law suit hit you

    Purcell Systems Response

Purcell is under new management since this review from 2011.
