Lacks job stability as Queb. buy and closes plants.

    Pros

Fair amount of autonomy if you have a creative job, little autonomy and lots of "this is how to do it" if you don't

    Cons

Little cohesiveness between facilities and divisions, staff at corporate office seemed to go out of their way to make tasks difficult and would not take suggestions to streamline and increase efficiencies.

    Advice to Management

The company has been sold to another firm - hopefully this will help.

    Pros

I interned here. They had a relatively nice internship program where I was paid a scholarship instead of an hourly rate, but I don't think it's a standard program at all branches.

    Cons

We had very few resources to work with because the company was having profitability issues.

    Advice to Management

    Finance your IT department!

    Pros

    Good connections, some smart employees.

    Cons

The company suffered when they tried to take over so many smaller presses.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees right. Don't be so greedy.

    Pros

Good opportunities for self growth. Lots of freedom. You can learn whatever you are interested in if you can spend the time.

    Cons

Financial stability of company and always pending layoffs. Trying to minimize work force leads to too much on your plate. Allways have to watch your back.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with respect. Stop putting on multiple hats. The reason the other jobs were invented is because they need someone paying full attention to it.

    Pros

Given the current state of the economy and the company there aren't many. I will say if you are lucky enough not to be in manufacturing they are pretty flexible with getting a time off here and there to take care of personal matters.

    Cons

The downside of working for Quebecor is the fact that the presses just don't stop. The work is is consistent and boring because it is. The work is so overwhelming at times that you easily become scared to take time off for fear of falling behind. The company is currently in bankruptcy and supplies are hard to come buy to the point that some employees buy their own supplies to get the work done. Equipment is old and ratty, and software is outdated. Maybe once we emerge from backruptcy we will invest in infrastructure.

    Advice to Management

Street employees better. They fell like they are getting dumped on because the economy is back and the customer has us by the balls. We bend over backwards to accomadate every request of our customer for fear of if we don't someone else will.
