I worked at Real Capital Analytics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Not a lot of red tape, and managers are willing to assist you, and they want to see you grow your skill set.

    Cons

Hours could be unpredictable but there are times you will get compensated in comp time so it balances out in the long run

    Pros

Great co-workers, well balanced work/life environment. As an entry-level, you will receive great training in order to build a solid foundation which will help you as you further your skills as a Researcher. Fun holiday and summer parties.

    Cons

As you become more senior in the organization, one would expect to receive additional raining but because the company has been growing, upper management is swamped with their workload that it becomes more of figuring it out on your own.

    Advice to Management

Provide on-going training to senior staff, not only to entry-level candidates. Additionally, don't only stress data entry but also how to analyze the macro data.

    Pros

Great work culture, growing team and collaborative environment. Seems to be a great place for both horizontal and vertical movement within the company. Leader in the analytics industry.

    Cons

May not be the place for someone who requires strong and rigid organizational structure. Pace of work may be too quick and ever changing for some. Communication can be a bit lacking cross teams.

    Advice to Management

Better attention to research and analyst methodology, practice and quality of work. Set clearer milestones and goals for individuals and teams.

I have been working at Real Capital Analytics full-time

    Pros

Very open and "start up" environment. The team truly works as a team. You see individuals interacts with each other throughout the day. People are willing to help each other aiming at the common goal - complete the sprint or the project on time with high quality! People on the tech team are very smart, some are brilliant. The leadership here is also very strong. I never felt lost in a project. Our VP has built and sold start up company himself.

The tools provided to developers are top-notch. The Atlassian suite was implemented last year and had a hug impact to the productivity to the team. Management has been very open to new technologies and new ways of doing things.

    Cons

the company isn't a start up, although for certain areas in the firm it still has the start up feel. You won't get company stocks just by being there. You have to work hard to get it, in form of stock options. I believe 2 years of working full time will make you eligible. Then your performance will have to be really good.

This is a small shop with a linear product line.

A well oiled team with a relaxed vibe yet hard-working vibe. Opportunities to learn with senior management. Great leadership.

    Cons

None, but if you require micromanaging and handholding, this is not the job for you

    Advice to Management

Check in with the overall team more on actionable plans for the future.

    Pros

The managers were very understanding of your personal life. The employees that work there are all great and fun to be around.

    Cons

Not a lot of job growth. It IS a very niche market and its not their fault. Its just the nature of the business.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good job supporting your team. It wouldn't hurt to hang out with everyone after work hours either.
