I have been working at RealtyTrac full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most members of the executive team are friendly and approachable.
Most employees are hard-working and talented.

    Cons

    No opportunity for career growth.
    Poor communication.
Lack of resources suffocate revenue growth.
Growing reliance on unproven revenue sources.

    Advice to Management

Stop sacrificing long-term growth opportunities for short-term unproven ideas. Support your employees before they leave for a company that does.

I worked at RealtyTrac (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Major investments in data expansion and infrastructure, required at a minimum to stay competitive in the market.

    Cons

Senior managements vision for the future of the organization is misguided, due to limited industry experience. Significantly over estimated their value proposition in the marketplace.

    I worked at RealtyTrac full-time

    Pros

Can learn a lot. Some super intelligent people working there. Many people who are passionate about the RE data business.

    Cons

Micromanaged. Not given enough info to know what was going on around you. Everything was a surprise as it happened. Bounced from one direction to another in terms of strategy. Hired and dumped good people.

    Advice to Management

The management has changed enough that anything I could add might not be relevant at this point. The comments above, if they still hold true are advice enough...

I worked at RealtyTrac (More than 8 years)

    Pros

A lot of learning can be had.
Meet a lot of new people.

    Cons

No IT management, anything that needs to be fixed you will need to look it up and learn how to do it on the spot.
Turn over is so high, I stopped learning peoples names. We would hire six sales guys, and the next day, they would all be gone.
Be very careful what you say about management. I had a good thought on how to improve moral, shared it with someone in HR. A week later, I was training my replacement.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people. Stop laying off everyone on a whim because you want to buy a Benzo or Porsche. Stop treating your devs like a bunch of sweatshop workers.

I have been working at RealtyTrac (Less than a year)

    Pros

RealtyTrac has one of the best cultures I've ever been a part of. HR manager Gary is a great person and that trickles through the rest of the organization.

    Cons

High turnover on the business side and not a very good budget for a Data company. Too much help desk takes away from focusing on bigger projects.

    Advice to Management

Give bonuses and match 401k. Need to find ways to keep talent from leaving.

    Pros

Very comfortable place to work. Everyone treats each other with respect. No bad attitudes and plenty of opportunity. High energy and fast paced

    Cons

Sometimes fast pace can wear you out. Sometimes making quick decisions can come back and be wrong decision.

    Advice to Management

Outside of maybe too many executives I would not offer much advice to Management. They are going in the right direction and most of management works a lot of hours and are very dedicated. Most will also speak to you with respect including the CEO who will call you bud and be nice to you. Does seem to be top heavy so I would say my advice would be less execs.

    Pros

The company attracts some of the most talented and dedicated people. The work/life balance is almost unmatchable. The benefits are great and the office has a gym, which is nice to keep active during the day. The atmosphere is very comfortable and all departments collaborate well with one another. Overall a great place to work!

    Cons

Cannot think of any cons at the moment
