Supportive management and growth opportunities, but layoffs disrupt stability
Pros
Great management team with clear expectations and strong opportunities for professional growth. Although I was hired as a Parent Outreach Coordinator, I was encouraged to explore additional interests and was able to participate in Data Science team meetings and contribute to projects outside my primary role. Flexible PTO, fair compensation, and a fully remote work environment provided excellent work-life balance. Management valued results and autonomy, allowing employees flexibility in how they managed their workload.
Cons
Company-wide layoffs resulted in the elimination of my position and that of my counterpart following the loss of a major insurance partner contract. While workforce reductions were understandable given the circumstances, communication throughout the process could have been more transparent. During the period of uncertainty, there were extended stretches with limited work available while the company awaited a decision from the partner organization. Employees received relatively little information regarding the situation and were provided with only two weeks of severance following the layoffs.
