    Pros

Small town feel, you get to know the patients, flexible hours if you need them- I was in school full time

    Cons

Be aware of your coworkers and maintain professionalism. There aren't many consequences for breaking the rules which can be frustrating when people are repeat offenders

    Advice to Management

Clear out those who do not want to work or do not care about what they are doing.

I worked at Riverview Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Community focus; staff works well together; physicians are great for the most part; excellent facilities

    Cons

Senior leadership seemed bound and determined to thwart innovation and initiative. For a small organization that touts its "flat" organization chart....the chart may be flat but it is a mile wide and there is still a path to take. Financial issues have hit the organization in recent years. They seem to be trying to change, but it may be too late. I'm really not sure why they haven't joined with Community at this point.

    Advice to Management

Get out of people's way. Stop protecting marginal employees because you've lost most of the good ones, particularly in the manager/director level.

    Pros

Steady flow of work. Most problems are simple to resolve and as long as you have good communication skills you will excel at keeping your clients happy. Helping people is great, and to some people you're a lifesaver since you know how to get their computer working or you can recover their lost data.

    Cons

Every job has cons, but you have to look for the best in it.

    Pros

Our current office manager provides a relaxed atmosphere that allows us to self-manage and motivate within the office

    Cons

Not much incentive for employees. Not a career choice company in most positions

I have been working at Riverview Health full-time

    Pros

Full service cafeteria with a variety of entree's offered every day! Excellent management who constantly tries to get face time with each of their employees! Great job security compared to other hospitals in the area who have consistently laid off employees.Above all the best thing about Riverview is the culture. Compared to other hospitals, the work place culture at Riverview is the best I have ever seen. There is very little infighting between employees!

    Cons

The pay is slightly under market value. Nursing seems to have a lot of issues of infighting. Average communication between departments when implementing new policies.

    Advice to Management

Try to promote a culture of mutual assistance/support between nurses.
