I worked at SEOP full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Laid back atmosphere. Company has performed good with some guests. Great company to work for when all is on the up and up.

    Cons

Never able to take what is said to you at face value from management all the way around. Doesn't appreciate the employees but only a very select few.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with your employees. Smiling to ones face while holding a knife behind your back is never a good thing.

I worked at SEOP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Some really great, smart people working there
    - Did learn quite a bit about SEO and the industry in general

    Cons

    - Some of the sales people would make outlandish promises just to get paid for a few months before a client would cancel
    - The "HR" department is located in another country which means no one is looking out for the employee
    - CEO is a one of a kind character and not in a good way. He's money hungry and was hardly ever in the office but when he was, chaos ensued. Half the employees were scared of him because he's so irrational, temperamental and general a sleazy salesman.

    Advice to Management

Gain some ethics! Quit over promising and under delivering. You give SEO companies a bad name.

    Pros

upper management is non existent so it's basically you left alone, figuring out how to best service your clients. Many previous employees have to left to start their own agencies, SEOP is a great training ground for entrepreneur mind sets. It can be as easy or as difficult as you want it to be, you have leeway to leave and come as you want and don't be surprised by the lack of professionalism; it's run by young guys and it's very much what you would expect. You have the freedom to expand your skills and grow and learn about the newest trends in digital marketing, just beware of the sales team.

    Cons

The way they sell their services, is not based on capabilities, it's very much whatever the client wants, they can do. Sounds like a good business model, but not when you're often not given the tools to succeed to please your client. Word of advice always be straight up with your clients.

    Advice to Management

care about your employees, clients or you're setting yourself for many competitors.

I have been working at SEOP full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - The coworkers are great.
    - Young, fun company to work for.
    - They strive to minimize bureaucracy.
    - Senior management is good about listening to your concerns, and they do care.
    - As long as you get your work done on-time, you'll be appreciated.
    - Aggression is rewarded. The salary and raises will not be given to you. You have to ask for them.

    Cons

    - Sales continues to collect commission even though they checked out after the sale closed.
    - Employee turnover rate needs to come down.
    - Employees held accountable for problems that can sometimes be traced back to a fundamental flaw with the product.
    - The office needs... work.

    Advice to Management

    - Share the wealth.
    - Dance with the girl who brought you.
    - A client saved is a client earned. If you're worried about client retention, reward the operations side of the office instead of only placing incentives on new sales.

I have learned a lot in terms of the online landscape and what it takes to build an effective SEO campaign and to form objectives properly in order to see success for clients.
