I worked at SRC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The best reason to work at SRC is making a poster.

    Cons

The worst reason to work at SRC is a clogged-up toilet backing up into a shower.

    Advice to Management

My own advice to management is to hang paintings and throw down bear rugs.

I worked at SRC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Steady work, nice offices. Company philosophy is conflict averse, and will only fire as a last resort.

    Cons

Satellite offices have difficulty coordinating with the hub in Syracuse. Business development at satellite offices is poor, creating lack of opportunities for growth and high turnover.

I have been working at SRC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits: 403b retirement (employee:5 percent, employer 10 percent match), Blue Cross medical plan is great (currently 20 dollar copay), PTO of 3-5 weeks a year plus holidays, annual gifts, monetary award system, flexible work hours, 18 credit hours a year covered for any accredited institution, medical and daycare expense plans to save on taxes, discounts on certain retailers (Dell, Verizon, etc.).

    Cons

Limited job growth/advancement opportunities depending on your field of work, benefits have been declining each year since the end of the Iraq war. The Executive Order that Obama created to give 7 days of sick time to government contractors was poorly executed...SRC had 10 days designated for sick time and is now (as of Jan. 2017) only offering 5 as part of the PTO package, which in my opinion, is not in line with the intentions of executive order.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to listen to their employees and ensure proper training for progression in their field is provided. This ensures that SRC stays at the forefront of their expertise in technical problem solving and advanced analysis. This means that managers should be proactive in identifying advanced tool suites and courses for their employees to engage in regularly to ensure each contract is manned with the most qualified and knowledgeable individuals. A proactive manager that gets their people trained is a manager that employees want to continue working for.

    I worked at SRC full-time

    Pros

Smart people work there, Nice benefits, Not for profit advantage/nuances, Nice gym, Pay is decent, offices are adequate, not a knock yourself out sort of place

    Cons

Managers with limited vision, Bizarre growth models try to make it look like the big boys and it's greatest assets are probably more attributable to smaller teams, certain areas well run, others just biding their time, HR is filled with gossipy types, don't truly do research, mostly defense, morale is so-so, don't spend a lot on equipment and resources as most of the bog boys do.

I have been working at SRC full-time

    Pros

Great benefits all round, if you're looking to go to college or continue your college career its great. They pay up to 18 credit hours a year towards any college you want. Dollar sign doesn't matter all the matters is the credit hour count. If you're interested in taking a certification they're happy to foot the bill as long as its something relevant to your job. They foot the bill for Security+ and will be paying for my AWS Solutions Architect exam so they're happy to help out there.

    Cons

Going on business trips can be a complete headache considering the amount of hoops you have to jump through. The computer's used in my office are kind of old which I find surprising for a technical company.

    Advice to Management

i don't really have any advice for management. I'm pretty satisfied with the amount of time and energy that management puts in to helping me out and keeping me happy.

    Pros

Non-profit means focus on customer satisfaction. People are great. Fantastic technical organization and significant high-tech work.

    Cons

Although non-profit, the company is still affected by business and economic cycles.

I have been working at SRC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility, incredible benefits package, great team to work with, ability to work from home when needed, Lots of training opportunities, both in house & not

    Cons

Local customer requirements are all over the place, still new to the area & trying to grow local business from nearby bases. A lot of potential & travel opportunities

    Advice to Management

Keep remote sites involved with the business development & other ongoings. Don't merge vacation and sick leave into "paid time off"
