    Pros

Flexible hours, commission, benefits, paid sick leave and vacation, 401 K, fairly laid back, amazing product, good discounts, great training that will help me in other jobs, awesome team!

    Cons

Upper management is inconsistent with everything! Pay can be better since product is expensive, zero opportunity for advancement, if your part time you don't get nearly as many benefits.

    Advice to Management

Be more consistent with promos, it seems like things get randomly decided and not fully communicated with all involved parties making it difficult at the store level.
Pay can be a little bet better, especially since some pieces are $1000 alone!
Also you have amazing people at the front line, take time to developed these people so you don't loose them.

I have been working at Samsonite full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good hours, easy work. Store is slow to moderately busy at times but it can be boring. Product is easy enough to learn and customers are nice.

    Cons

They like to stretch the truth to hire. Was told I'd be bumped to ASM after 6 months of being head key. Never happened.

I have been working at Samsonite full-time

    Pros

Flexible scheduling, amazing product, variety of customers to service (makes for some hilarious and memorable stories and experiences and knowledge). Job is fairly laid back without too many cringe-worthy expectations.

    Cons

As a keyholder, you are expected to know the ins and outs of the store as if you were an Assistant or Store manager, including operations and technical aspects. For the amount of work put in, and the fact that you will essentially do the jobs of both the ASM and SM, the pay is a joke. They start you at an inflexible, non-negotiable rate of $10.00 and the pay raises are meager at best. It's not a commission-based sales job either, but there are opportunities for bonuses for FT-staff if the STORE meets it's monthly or yearly goals. So sadly if you're a fantastic seller/employee and you have an unsatisfactory co-worker, they can and most likely will screw you out of a bonus.

    Advice to Management

Not so much advice to management as it is to CORPORATE. PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES BETTER, AND GIVE BETTER OPPORTUNITY FOR ADVANCEMENT

I worked at Samsonite full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Employee committee comes up with fun things to help team-building
-Location is central to most areas of Jacksonville
    -Time off policy is generous

    Cons

-Too many meetings and they are all too long. Whatever amount of time the meeting is scheduled for, double it and add half again.
-Sales and the customers walk all over the company. No need for a rules when the customer gets their way every time.
-Everyone says "BASICALLY" 75 times a day. Or what "the biggest thing" is.
-Don't take time off and expect to be left alone. They won't stop bothering you even if you're on vacation, but they disappear without a trace when THEY'RE the ones taking time off. I finally just turned my phone off to stop their idiocy. They didn't like that. I didn't care.

    Advice to Management

There are many good people working here. Unfortunately their drive and creativity are stifled by cliques, particularly an axis of evil between upper management, who talk stink about the employees and then run to their offices and laugh about it.

    Pros

Fun working environment, learning something new everyday!
The team was amazing miss them very much....this was located in the UK though

    Cons

Corporate customer service could help the stores out a little more instead of passing the buck

    Advice to Management

I had a brilliant manager and district manager just stay the way you are :)

    I worked at Samsonite full-time

    Pros

The job was a great place to get some sales experience. You know that if someone had taken the time to walk into your store, that they were either wanting to buy, or comparison shop around because they WERE going to buy some luggage.

    Cons

"Could you show me how that bag works"? Lots of people want you to open the bag, and spin it, and leave. Also, NO Commission. So, that was a big deal breaker for me. The only chance for advancement in the company was a bump up to store manager if they quit or got fired...Or wait for a new store to open close by and hope for the promotion. My manager was paid hourly?!

    Advice to Management

If you make bonuses and perhaps commissions, then perhaps it would be nice for the sales reps to make a little more than hourly wages.
