I have been working at Scheels part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexlible hours, pay and a half on federal holidays, awesome discount, most employees are extremely friendly and willing to help.

    Cons

Pay could be a little more fair, employees are scheduled every weekend consistently even though when you are hired they tell you only every other weekend is required.

    I worked at Scheels full-time

    Pros

Employee discount. A couple of good employees.

    Cons

Terrible managers. Most ASL’s are on a power trip which is comical because they are managers at a retail store. Worked here for a short while after grad school and was appalled by the work environment and lack of business acumen of ASL’s and SSM’. Pay is paltry and they lie to you about what you can realistically make. I made more working at a liquor store in college. And don’t expect to become an ASL unless you are a sycophant or best friend of another ASL. Don’t waste your time with this place.

    Advice to Management

Promote people who deserve to be promoted and have common sense. And quit thinking you are so much better than your employees. Having a good business model in retail is hard without good employees to sell your product. And don’t forget that you yourself work in retail... the only difference is your white shirt and slightly higher paycheck.

    I worked at Scheels part-time

    Pros

Family atmosphere among employees, great first job

    Cons

Ugly company shirt that doesn't really fit female body types

    Advice to Management

Please change the shirts! They look awful and outdated.
