I worked at SeaBright Insurance full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Strong financials, good management, experienced staff.

    Cons

The CEO and board of directors lied to the employees for 18 months and said the company was not for sale while they were actively seeking a buyer as the stock was undervalued.

    Advice to Management

Don't lie to your employees and play with people lives, livelihoods and careers just so that you can get a golden parachute.

Corporate vs Branch - should be on the same page

    Advice to Management

Corporate Communication should be relayed vertically not horizontally

    Pros

This company seems to compensate its employees well and promote from within regularly. Casual Fridays are nice and I really like having two floating holidays a year.

    Cons

This company is not very well-organized or cooperative. Many times the right hand does not seem to know what the left is doing. The electronic claims system is out-dated. Information can be difficult to locate or simply not available in their existing systems. Often, departments seem to be at odds with each other and there is a distinct sense of corporate vs. branch mentality.

    Advice to Management

Work together not against each other!
