I just recently interviewed and was hired by SoftwareOne the interview process was nothing but great.

Overall I like my peers and company values. Inside team tends to be pretty good. I like how it's a global company. Good reporting to pull on client's data. I do like the concept of the offerings and love the marketing, but that's where it stops.

Boys club in management. Our team went through 4 managers in 2 years in our territory, if you're not a yes man you're out. Each manager has different demands on priorities and getting nothing done. You will be asked to get rid of accounts you've grown to give to new reps, leads are very hard to come by. Most of the services are marketing concepts. It's very hard to get resources that are good in front of a client, if by chance you sell a project your resources end up leaving mid project . Clients will tell you our services are the most expensive in the industry. It's hard to make it past 2-3 years as a sales rep, only ones that stay longer are the old seasoned reps that have an established base of clients from new reps leaving. Yes even seasoned reps have a hard time hitting their numbers. We use to be partner friendly in the industry but not anymore, most partner relationships have ended due to us not wanting to pay anything on service referrals. It's hard to sell the solutions, you're fighting high costs, turnover resources, not a lot of flexibility from management, losing your accounts to other reps, constant changes in management. If you're in sales (unless you are in headquarters) just know your job here is temporary.

I spent 7+ years there. Really loved the owner (Patrick) and was saddened when he passed. Loved the people there and appreciated the opportunity.

Became more corporate once we became a public company. Little resources allocated to the program I was managing.

Leadership out of Europe is not charismatic at all, seems to be "puffed up" about themselves, has their wallet out to acquire other services companies as their "growth" strategy; juxtaposed to properly managing employees to succeed.

1 Lots of women in leadership 2 Very strict on hiring only great people managers 3 Compensation plans create harmony as they are designed to reward people for helping each other 4 They pay you the commission they promised

1 VERY hard to get up to speed as there was NO onboarding training and a myriad of hopelessly dis-connected systems to navigate - hope this has been fixed in the last 5 years 2 HUGE TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS - These people LOVE to travel so much that it is just not possible to be productive

Pros

SoftwareONE provides flexibility (work from home) to their employees where applicable. The company also has competitive salary and benefits compared to its peers. It has a flat hierarchy and very much oriented in its values. Great people.
