I worked at Sovereign part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great work schedule and pay rate for part time job;awesome benefits for part time!

    Cons

Too many hours for part time

    Advice to Management

I know that the customer is always right. But you are losing employees by listening to only the customer who is making demands which are unrealistic. Work w the employees to see if tasks are attainable

I have been working at Sovereign full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are a lot of benefits and the work isn't really demanding.

    Cons

Your coworkers can make you either A) go crazy B) transfer C) quit. The people that surround you really is the only con.

I have been working at Sovereign full-time

    Pros

Great managers, friendly collaborative people throughout the company, focus on healthy living and wellbeing, professional development, community/volunteering.

    Cons

Parking can be an issue but we have subsidised parking and great to not have to go to the city. Also easy access to bus stations.

    Pros

Selective members of staff are a pleasure to work with and are extremely knowledgeable.

    Cons

awful working environment where the CEO and his family manipulate staff for there benefit.
The CEO has a hold over members of staff and holds them back from achieving full potential for the business, he is unable to listen and understand the ideas from staff to push the company forward.
Staff are under paid and not appreciated
    Huge staff turn around
Work load for staff is extremely high.

    Advice to Management

Employee more staff, don't take on any more clients until you can handle the work load you currently have.
    Appreciate your staff.

I worked at Sovereign full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay rate. Probably because of the high staff turnover.

    Cons

Everyday I wanted to kill myself.

    Advice to Management

Stop micro managing. Stop the workplace bullying. Stop promoting your drinking buddies only. Stop the toxic work atmosphere. Stop with the unreasonable expectations.

    Pros

    - Nice premises on the shore
    - Open culture and genuine focus on employee wellness/engagement
    - Supportive development culture
    - Not hierarchal/ senior leaders area accessible

    Cons

    - Biggest insurer in the market but losing share
    - Hard to get meaningful salary increases without changing roles
    - Not the same buzz as working in the CBD
    - CEOs tend to change every few years

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Sovereign full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy to get to if you live northern Auckland

    Cons

Constant turnover of both non-managerial staff and managers.

    Advice to Management

I guess they are trying to maximize return from employees. The more replaceable the job-duties, the less companies seem to care about the employee.

I have been working at Sovereign full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They are trying to be cutting edge so lots to learn ad understand, not much time to do it because everything is pretty full on.

    Cons

Too much to do in limited amounts of time leads to a chaotic environment

    Advice to Management

Make sure that there's enough support staff before pushing projects through, trust the knowledge of internal staff more than the external consultants who only want the money

  10. "Good, but could be better"

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Sovereign full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, built in customer base, name attracts customers and referral sources. Reasonable commission structure.

    Cons

Loan officers and financial planners who are employees do not receive a salary, yet have requirements placed on their time. They are paid a draw against overall commission and are required to log a time card with hours worked. If loans get stalled when processors are too busy, a loan officer could actually end up owing the company money. Loan officers are expected to produce large monthly closed numbers, while the processing centers are seriously understaffed with processors averaging 200 or more loan files at a time.

    Advice to Management

Don't be penny wise and pound foolish. Hire the processing staff required to keep up with the demand.
