I worked at Spinal Elements full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Spacious, updated office Really hardworking individuals in some departments (who carry the rest) Some perks (snacks, kitchen area, free food at months end, etc.)

    Cons

No training agenda whatsoever, employees are basically forced to learn from other employees because management is so overloaded with work. The teams are so short staffed that management is also responsible for managing accounts. There is little connection between employee experiences and management/HR response. Issues and employee concerns were never fully addressed on multiple occasions, leaving employees feeling defeated...

    Advice to Management

You will continue to lose really good employees if your salaries cannot compete with market value, if employees don't feel their work is valued, and if the true underlying issues are not addressed. Telling your team to "stay positive" while giving them nothing to stay positive about, no fixes to their issues, and no support when they are being harassed by coworkers and customers will not cut it. Replace your HR team...

I worked at Spinal Elements full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Nice work location & there are some good people that work there. A lot of learning opportunities if you’re looking to get into the medical device industry.

    Cons

Underpaid salaries (not even at market value) terrible leadership and overworked/overstressed employees. HR is a joke and most people know nothing is being handled or taken seriously. It used to be a fun environment to work in and now it’s toxic. Turnover is at an all time high and it’s most likely going to stay that way

    Advice to Management

The problem is management... so unfortunately nothing will change. But I would recommend taking a hard look at HR and how poorly situations are handled.

I worked at Spinal Elements full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some good folks there Free Snacks and beverages Beautiful office

    Cons

No accountability for actions performed and demoralizing departments by putting extra loads of work on everyone’s shoulders with the mindset of “You better do this and be happy since there are some other people who don’t have jobs.” No bonuses and the company overspends like crazy. The sales team runs wild, leadership doesn’t help those who are drowning in the extra work from the acquisition, and the pay is awful! It’s...

    Advice to Management

Get better managers who are not trying to only look out for themselves, better HR, better leadership, less product overlap, meet to market price for your employees

I worked at Spinal Elements full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Unfortunately there are no pros left at this company.

    Cons

Terrible executive management team, everyone out for themselves, departments blaming other departments for their own mistakes or problems, horrible company culture, negative environment, no one respects the executive team.

    Advice to Management

Get a management team that has a clue on how to run a business and treat employees. Get rid of the execs that are only about lining their own pockets and serving their own best interest regardless of the impact on others. This company used to be something unique and powerful. Now it has been destroyed and stomped on by the current powers that be.

    Pros

Customer service people are professional and helpful

    Cons

No real new products which are different or innovative

    Advice to Management

Reduce the number of systems between Amendia and spinal elements merger and focus on updating general implants for more common cases versus trying to make new systems which get used more infrequently.
