Pros

There are very few good things about working for Spring11. The casual dress code is probably the only thing that is a true positive.

Cons

There is a complete lack of any leadership within the company. Senior management desperately wants to grow the company, but is oblivious as to what it takes to get the business to the next level. If you are willing to give up any semblance of a live, you can survive at Spring11, but don't expect to be paid for your sacrifices. Unfortunately, the company seems to want Wall Street caliber talent and work hours, but without actually paying Wall Street compensation. Everyone I worked with true talent and potential has left the company as quickly as possible with some even being willing to pay-back signing bonuses in order to move to a better place. If you have any hope of working for a respectable company focused on commercial real estate, you will regret working at Spring11.

Complete lack of respect for employees.

Pros

Casual dress code in the office.

Cons

Management has absolutely no respect for their employees and they basically squeeze as much hard work out of you as they can until they no longer need you. You never feel like you are valued as part of a team and there is zero incentive to go the extra mile. Even if you stay at the office past midnight for three nights in a row to finish a deal you will get no more than a "thanks" and the next day another assignment will be on your desk that you will go back to work on most likely because you are in fear of losing your job. The office culture is pretty terrible and you are expected to be at your desk late every day even if you just finished a few deals and are slow at the moment. There is little room for upward movement as the owner's strategy is to have minimal high salary jobs and make their money off the effort of low salary employees. You certainly get good exposure to the CMBS industry but know that you will basically be an unvalued workhorse before accepting a job.

Pros

The business casual dress code is the only pro.

Cons

You will be told rather quickly that since you are new you should expect to be the last out of the office. Received zero training so the majority of my time I stared at my desk. First day there were people already talking about working through the weekend.
