I have been working at Stephens full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, coworkers are generally very friendly, some employees get free lunch

    Cons

Limited advancement opportunities, lot of employees related or long time friends so kind of a good ole boy situation not easy to break into.

    Advice to Management

Some managers lack emotional intelligence; communication to employees is generally lacking but it seems like that is intended

    Pros

Great pay - invests in their employees (room for advancement).

    Cons

Company culture = good ole boy system. Lack equality in treatment among its employees (preferential treatment). Some VP's lack people skills, which is direly needed when supervising others.

    Advice to Management

Seek honest employee feedback, especially during exit interviews.

I worked at Stephens full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Stephens is a classic "Old Boy's Club" and if you can make it into the "Duck Club" your are set.

    Cons

Meritocracy is a foreign concept at Stephens. You are paid based on who likes you vs. value add.

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of current management.

I have been working at Stephens full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good people to work with - very friendly staff and amazing culture. Competitive pay and benefits.

    Cons

I worked in the insurance department and was not properly trained. My immediate supervisor focused more on brown nosing clients than the training and getting to her staff. This probably explains the revolving door in her department.

    Advice to Management

Try to extend the culture of Stephens Inc into Stephens Insurance!
