I have been working at The RMR Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Cohesive, collaborative environment. Everyone says hi in the hallways to each other. Departments welcome and encourage feedback. Free breakfast on Fridays and there's at least 1 or 2 free lunches on average each week, as opposed to my previous job where we were lucky to get free breakfast twice per year. Fantastic employees with great experience that really care about career development. I really feel valued as an... employee and can make a significant impact.

    Pros

Lots to learn, keeps you on your toes.

I worked at The RMR Group for more than 3 years

    Pros

The only thing that RMR has going for it's self is that it overpays everyone. However, this comes at a cost because the company is full of underachievers that are financially enslaved by management. It has no life and is soulless.

    Cons

There are a lot of under qualified individuals who are employed here and those who have some talent are left having to work with these individuals. It's a definite fraternity especially in the finance department where the Treasurer/CFO has his guys that he takes care of elevating through the ranks.

    Advice to Management

Look around you at other successful companies in the Boston market and try to mirror yourself with them so you could actually attract real talent and not settle for mediocre

I worked at The RMR Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - free parking - parking attendants are the nicest guys

    Cons

I heard about this company when it had been rebranded from REIT Management and Research, but did not heed the advice. Feedback are all the same: - company and leadership is culturally behind the times - job always at risk given poor leadership vision on staffing model - company place little value in their employees - annual employee survey is a guise that the company is willing to change - it’s a joke - little... transparency - small company with little professional development and growth opportunities

I worked at The RMR Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Colleagues were excellent!! Pay was competitive

    Cons

Micromanaged to justify their jobs but they are non essential. No flexibility in job schedule No trust by management in their employees When faced with normal everyday challenges Management lacks the communication skills necessary to succeed and will punish their employees due to their inefficiencies Business impact not factored in and everything is priority Threatening employees to do work that is... not in their job description Hostile environment If you want to learn how not to run an IT Department this is the place for you If prioritized and organized 2 to 3 employees (full time and not contract or Managed Services) could effectively run the infrastructure operation Unable to retain top talent Brute force attack to a domain controller and radius server that was being hit over 60,000 times for days. They were not concerned at all.

    Advice to Management

Senior Leadership should look into where the real problem lies within IT Management which only does a small percentage of actual work. They delay things on purpose and push back when it’s not necessary.
