  • Management will not work with your schedule outside of work: it's called work life balance (in 3 reviews)

I worked at Tourneau part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots to learn, lots to do

    Cons

No room at all to move up

    Advice to Management

Train the interns better and create a stream for moving up

I have been working at Tourneau full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - meet great people interest in high end timepieces

    - stepping stone in the industry & luxury sales career

    - vendor relationships

    - finance options for customers

    Cons

    - poor commission structure ( only make 2% commission on most desirable products) and if discounted which is rare you only get about 15% of the commission you would have received if it was full price!

    - other watch retailers in the area offer better prices on the same product by 10-25% less!

    - lack of managerial integrity all around and up to corporate level management

    - blame game: it's everyone else's fault

    - poor HR department: reach out with problems occurring in the store and they will silence you by letting you know you can and will be fired

    Advice to Management

Retail is successful when the whole team works together. You're supposed to lead the staff and set a positive example not, "I can do this I'm the manager but if you do it you will get written up"

    Stay competitive in market!!!

I worked at Tourneau full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I'm great at sales so I always made the maximum amount of money I could at tourneau

Chance to meet customers who are educated and successful (unfortunately most don't buy from tourneau because they are over priced)

    Cons

Uneducated management going all the way to VP of stores.

Virtually no HR department: and not sure if the "HR" employees have any actual human resource training.

Management will not work with your schedule outside of work: it's called work life balance.

Poor commission structure compares to other luxury companies.

Poor customer retention: tourneau does nothing to be competitive with other watch retailers.

Management hoards desirable pieces for their clients without allowing sales professionals to make the sales.

    Advice to Management

Further your education with retail management, customer service, & your product. The reason the store structure doesn't work is because your sales staff are more educated & knowledge than the people in charge the dynamic will need lead to a successful work environment.

I have been working at Tourneau full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Access to a lot of high end watch brands, great opportunity to make money. Comission structure straight forward with goals that are attainable. Fun if you enjoy watches.

    Cons

Not enough social media presence which is key in this day and age. It would be nice if there were more stores available so that current employ can grow within the company. Growth from within instead of hiring people who have never worked with timepieces before.

    Advice to Management

Personally my managers have been wonderful. They always listen to my ideas and try their best to make sure the staff is happy.

I worked at Tourneau full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Buyers were great
So many watches to play with

    Cons

Corporate too reactive and not proactive
    Too many ShopNBC brands

    Advice to Management

Pick a path and go that way. Hire more watch people to make decisions, not clothing and shoe people.

I have been working at Tourneau full-time

    Pros

Flexible schedule decent pay, easy to do better and make more.

    Cons

Management struggles to lead due to all the corporate rules that keep getting invented everyday and hinder any further progress to a true luxury brand experience.

    Advice to Management

Get with the times and don't be afraid of change. Everything needs a refresh not just for the sake of doing it but for the companies survival in the long term.
