I worked at Transaction Network Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Competitive pay, benefits, nice work environment. Employment when company was still public; they are now private and likely much different work environment. Mike Keegan was a superb executive in many ways; would work with/for him again.

    Cons

At the time, too many product lines to track. Operating revenue and attributing cost were very hard to break down / attribute. Some great developers / IT staff but at the product / portfolio management level there were challenges.

    Advice to Management

Review assets and focus on those with most profitability. Promote from within when it's earned and it's the right person -- not because it's politically safe. Many of the mid/lower management wanted to succeed but felt stymied by lack of overall product / business direction up 1 or 2 levels.

Social events for employees have died off over the years

I have been working at Transaction Network Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's sad to see old reviews on Glassdoor that don't represent TNS today. The company went through the typical pains a company does when acquired by a PE company with layoffs but the company has great people, great benefits, and a culture that cares for it's employees.

    Cons

More employee activities to increase team spirit.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work and focus on quality of service provided to our customers.

I worked at Transaction Network Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent compensation, plenty of PTO. Casual work environment. Talented employees and good collaboration at times.

    Cons

Lack of overall vision for the company. Lots of overtime and off hours support. Lack of responsibility in most departments and many non-sensical and knee-jerk decisions by management that wasted resources. False promises of further compensation with these funds mostly going to upper management. No training budgets. After the venture capital group Siris acquired TNS, there were layoffs and downsizing which further resulted in most talented employees leaving.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with employees, involve them in decision making processes.

    Pros

There's not much to do. Take a paycheck and keep your head down.

    Cons

Lot's of talk and no action. Product Managers get paid decently, but know little about their products (they are frequently rotated), and sales people make virtually no commission because there's no innovation in products. TNS is getting killed in the market and stay afloat by literally telling customers they need to give them business otherwise there'll be no other alternatives in the US market.

    Advice to Management

Fire virtually every employee who's been there since Verisign. All good employees have left and the only the bad ones have stayed around. Cequint is the best thing about TNS these days, so make sure you take care of them.

    Pros

Good benefits and great people surround you to get your work done. Great management team to help support your needs and ability to work with new technology and tier 1 customers on a regular basis

    Cons

No real rewards or bonus type structure. Merit increases have been minimal over the last few years due to the revenue performance of the company and at times seem to be under resourced.

    Advice to Management

    rewards and headcount
