I have been working at Trinity Health System full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some of the best nurses I've known. Tremendous teamwork. Excellent patient care, as far as it is possible.

    Cons

Administration does not value nursing staff. You only hear the negative. No raise in years. Terrible parking situation. Terrible cafeteria.

    Advice to Management

Get your heads out of your behinds and venture into the 21st century of healthcare. YOU are not the reason people come to this hospital.

I worked at Trinity Health System full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    decent pay and benefits
    accrued time

    Cons

Patient care is not a priority for administration, the priority is saving money and keeping their high paying administrative jobs instead.
Employees are afraid to speak lately, and SHOULD be.
Very Low morale of staff basically throughout the system.
Watch so you don't get run over by staff trying to run out the door.

    Advice to Management

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

    Pros

Great team work with coworkers, friendly attitude of coworkers, good salary. And benefits contributing 403b from employer

    Cons

Patients are not refused when it is evident that we are not capable of giving them special care needed and nurses are not safe when psychiatric patients are known to be dangerous but admitted to the unit regardless

    Advice to Management

Have more concern for your employees safety and if you want aggressive patients admitted, have enough staff males available to give a safe feeling to. Other staff members and to deter patients from getting aggressive with staff.

I have been working at Trinity Health System full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The staff is great and easy to work with. Everyone works as a team. Most doctors are easy to talk to. No apparent new nurse bullying goes on.

    Cons

The schedule is unpredictable, never consistent and usually posted on short noticed. Forced overtime. Floors are almost always short staffed. All floors could use a full time admission/discharge nurse.

I have been working at Trinity Health System full-time

    Pros

None. Seriously there are none except for the fact that this is the only hospital around.

    Cons

Low pay, expected to work overtime, management treats you like crap, no raises, little training, severely understaffed so you must do the jobs of 3 people, low moral, burnt out employees, old equipment.

    Advice to Management

Fire everyone and start over, especially management and the higher ups. No one cares about employees well fair and the working conditions are terrible.

    Pros

Most of the staff is wonderful

    Cons

Hard to move to another department & you dont get reg, raises or union

    Advice to Management

Stop buying unnecessary stuff for the building and put that money into your employees

    Pros

Senior Managers are innovative, try to treat people well with the resources they have.

    Cons

Low pay for the market and with recent recession, they opted to protect existing jobs (good thing), but freeze the already ridiculously low pay.

    Advice to Management

The CIO and his management is very smart, talented and creative. Can you figure out a way to reward your people so that they don't need to carry a side job in order to keep up financially? Can you find a way to truly bring salaries in line with the market.

I have been working at Trinity Health System full-time

    Pros

Work really matters and staff largely care for one another. There is a sense of working together. Healthcare benefits are good and begin to compensate for the lower salaries.

    Cons

Salary is low. Vacation time is limited in the midst of a transiston so the future maybe much better as things are updated
