I worked at TutorABC for less than a year

    Pros

You will always get paid and on time.

    Cons

The system is automated...very difficult to get real answers to your questions; mistakes are made regarding your absences...again automated, but no one ever hears that. They never admit mistakes. Those false absences cost me my part-time job.

    Advice to Management

Take a REAL look into how your system runs; automation can not be human and mistakes are made. Strong companies admit that.

I have been working at TutorABC part-time

    Pros

They offer pay pal, You can alter your schedule even if it is not during the peak hours

    Cons

They have more teachers than students so you will not get any bookings They will terminate your contract if you cancel a session even one time The staff does not understand English very well The interview process is long and tedious There are NO available spots !! You will not have ANY bookings! They send emails out for you to refer your friends to them as teachers, even though they do not have enough customers.

    Advice to Management

If a company is going to hire employees, they should make sure that they have enough customers. Many teachers are hired and they do not have any jobs available. And when there is a job available it is once every 3 months. If your employee is constantly asking for employment do not use the excuse that there are more teachers than students, so there is nothing available for you right now. Also, do not terminate a person...

I have been working at TutorABC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I started working for TutorABC in August 2016 and it’s been a life changing experience for me! These are my honest opinion about how this prestigious company took care of me, not only as an employee but also as a valuable client: 1. Provides training and support system. 2. Offers room for growth. 3. The management has an open door policy. 4. The staff provides good customer service. 5. The platform is user-friendly....

    Cons

I have been working for different multinational companies for the past years (mostly Business Process Outsourcing) and adopting to rapid changes in the company policy and structure is always a challenge. No company is perfect and TutorABC is no exception. However, the management gives us time to adopt to these changes and help us get back on track.

    Advice to Management

I hope that you maintain a good relationship between the management and the consultants, value us as much as you value us. And most of all, we are expecting more openness and transparency.

I have been working at TutorABC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The pay is really attractive. I can get more sessions compared to working for other online teaching companies.

    Cons

The sessions will be confirmed one hour before the class. Need to check the sessions frequently.

I have been working at TutorABC part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Nice students, nice support team, job freedom. The lessons have improved although still have abundant errors. The IT and Payroll team are more responsive although as a teacher you need to really push them to get support at times. The algorithm distributing classes and the teaching platform work beautifully - this is where the company puts most of its energy.

    Cons

The company uses its algorithm to keep a cap on students earnings. - class allocation is run by a computer algorithm that is designed to keep teacher’s pay capped around $12/hr. You cannot make more than $12/hr on average even as one of their top-rated, most popular instructors. They will limit the number of classes taught or the number of students per class to cap your earnings. I receive almost straight 10’s from my...

    Advice to Management

Treat teachers that your students value who perform well for the company better! There are many similar opportunities out there. If you want to remain ahead of the pack the once missing piece of your formula is valuing your team. The teachers are taken for granted - this will reduce the quality of your offering over time.

I have been working at TutorABC full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    You can work from home.

    Cons

Company "bonuses" for teachers are stolen away through clever (non)-scheduling schemes. If you don't schedule a certain way (which requires accepting a PAY CUT), then you may not get a useful amount of hours. It's a suuuuuper slimy way to cheat consultants out of the raises that they were given.

    Advice to Management

If you're not really willing to offer bonuses, then just don't do it. Don't require bonused teachers to schedule themselves as "master consultants" which requires a 5% PAY CUT! That's just dirty. Shame on you.

I have been working at TutorABC full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    None or what so ever.

    Cons

Their recent move is to make sure that consultants don't know how many hours they have worked for the company. Don't lie in your little answer... You cannot see the total number of hours worked for the company... So you have no way of knowing if they don't cheat you for hours for promotion. Don't lie in your responses!!! There is no place in the system where you can clearly see how many hours you worked for them. They...
