    Pros

If you are just starting out in the business field and need to gain experience then this job will help you out a lot.

    Cons

There is limited growth, and the company does not value their employees. Raises are minimal and the pay you get compared to the all the work you have to do does not even compare.

    Advice to Management

    Respect the employees.

I have been working at United Insurance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent benefits and pay starting day one. Ability to make your own schedule and pay check. In front of customers daily, no cold calling, easy new clientele. Easiest sale ever. This is a large national company with a small family owned business feel.

    Cons

Only forms of payment is mail in, collections or office pays. Need to set it up so customers to make online payments. Agents have lots of (sometimes) unrealistic expectations.

    Advice to Management

    Reduce reports and paperwork.

I worked at United Insurance full-time

    Pros

It is a large company with many locations. This provides the opportunity to further advance your career in the company. Most positions require you to work one on one with customers.

    Cons

Some of the locations (agencies) are small and have a high turnover rate due to the rate of pay and workplace moral.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to be more involved, or at least more aware of what is happening with their personnel in the local agencies. Workplace moral is lacking in some of the agencies.

    Pros

Agents get incentives for collecting premiums at insured's homes.

    Cons

Antiquated door to door policy sales. Product offerings do not really benefit the clientele. Difficult for insureds to make payments. No compensation for mileage driven to collect premiums. Hours spend and mileage accumulated on personal vehicle render pay to less than minimum wage.

    Advice to Management

Company needs to modernize and offer products that better the clientele. I would not one those policies for myself nor would I recommend them to anyone I personally.

I have been working at United Insurance full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Relationships you build with your customer base
    Set your own schedule
Having a dedicated debit group so you are not buying leads

    Cons

Sales structure, lack of underwriting support overall disconnect between the agents in the field and the home office. You have to jump through hoops to get answers and long hold times when you call customer service.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in training from the beginning especially for people without a sales background. Place more emphasis on developing your employees versus how much did you sell. United makes a lot of money off the work its agents perform yet they nickel and dime the agents for postage, mileage reimbursement, lunches etc.
