I have been working at Velapoint full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Generous time off policy, Employee appreciation, Benefits, Awesome co-workers, Room to grow, Approachable leadership, Food carts... the list goes on. This company has been nothing short of wonderful. I am pleased to work here and really enjoy the atmosphere that is offered. I do wish that some of the negative people would just go. If they are not happy, why stay. I would say the majority love it here and have really...

    Cons

Sadly, one bad apple sometimes spoils the bunch. It really bums me out to see some of the negativity by people, this company has been nothing short of awesome. Just like any company, there are some cons, but nothing like what I have seen listed here. It gets really hot sometimes in the building and I wish there were more window seats.

    Advice to Management

Keep working on building a successful company and don't let the haters bring you down. You all are always approachable and open to staff ideas

I worked at Velapoint full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

You’ll do great if you lie cheat and steal from customers! Especially taking advantage of the elderly who are on Medicaid and Medicare with limited income. You could get away with all sorts of things and be promoted, it’s wonderful! Sign up people under the false pretense of being major medical! Get fat commission!

    Cons

No cons! You can be asked to resign for illegal practices and still get your bonuses and make more that some people’s entire salaries. The management makes bank too! It’s great!

    Advice to Management

Keep taking advantage of honest hardworking employees and stupid customers! Great work!

    Cons

    - You won't make what they say you will. - Gossip and cut-throat environment. - You are timed to go to the bathroom. - Favortism with friends/family. - Benefits, what benefits?!

I have been working at Velapoint full-time

    Pros

-Nice friendly managers -Clean modern floor plan -Good training time -Repeatedly enforced to new trainees to act in ethical ways

    Cons

-Liars- Make promises to employees with no intent to keep them. -Double talk- Tell about company standards and those employees who brake them in an effort to emphasize what a good company they are -Double standards- Kick new employees to the curb for making small insignificant mistakes when current employees do much worse. -Failure to give new employees a chance if they don't like the employee for any reason.

    Advice to Management

Stop selling your snake oil and actually act like a civilized human. You claim to be understanding, then prove it. Stand by your word, because if a man can't be counted on to hold up his word, he's not much of a man. (Same goes for women of course>)

      Pros

Pay was okay but it could be better with the amount of work and BS you have to deal with.

      Cons

Everything else. Micro managing and all the managers have their own "Cliques" and if you disagree with one of them, you get bombarded by all of them.

      Advice to Management

      Hire new management company wide-

I have been working at Velapoint full-time for less than a year

      Pros

      Decent benefits and vacation days.

      Cons

Beyond embarrassing customer service and sales practices. Bottom line is just sales, sales, sales no matter the method or how doing the work wrong can effect other departments. Outdated office space. No clear chain of command. Supervisors gawking at you all day and micromanaging everything you do while they play around on their phones.

      Advice to Management

Work on customer service interactions, discipline employees who don’t follow through. Create a culture of wanting to actually help the customer rather than just wanting what is in their wallet. Raise wages to keep on par with the cost of living and be competitive with similar positions at other companies.

I have been working at Velapoint full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

Benefits, time off and flexible schedule

      Cons

Communication is null with management. They are on their cell phones all the time checking their facebook accounts etc., They are unapproachable, they get tiffed if you approach them with an issue or question. Pretty much you are to just shut up and do your work. Nothing fun is done to keep the morale up around here. Management gets to go off premises or have lunch delivered just for them. They herd up all together and...

      Advice to Management

Switch things up from time to time with your managers/sups. They need to be micromanaged like they do to their depts. There is no need for them to be on their phones at their desks when they have internal company chat and email. Upper management should be reviewing their managers on the floor a little more than usual and see what the people in past reviews here are talking about.

I worked at Velapoint full-time for more than 5 years

      Pros

There are some fun people on the sales floor and pretty good rappor with other departments That said the changes over the past year seriously reduced pay scale a the atmosphere is toxic.

      Cons

Pay structure is ludicrous . You’ll never know what your check is going to be , even if you sell well. Payday was always a mystery. And the bonus structure changes randomly. I went From making about $75k to watching my income drop to about $40 k in a period of months . This A highly corporate structure and you’ll get messages from management ALL the time

      Advice to Management

Be more transparent about the story here . Don’t screw your top agents .... they helped you build this company !!!!
