Nice base/ decent upside - poor management and work life balance

Jun 9, 2022 - Account Executive in Milpitas, CA

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Nice base and upside potential if you stick around long enough to see it.* *If the industry gains momentum. Tech is cool. Potential is there. It's a value sale and meetings are exciting when you get them because it is a challenge.

    Cons

Poor management from the top down - First meeting the GM tells us if you wanted work life balance you chose the wrong company. Nice. Wish the recruiter or the people who interviewed us would have mentioned that. Unrealistic expectations for the company and individual contributors, poor communication on expectations and direction, bad work life balance with no expectation for it to be better - only worse as you progress in the company. From my experience the job is less of a sales role and closing position and more of a glorified SDR role. You waste so much time. A meeting about a meeting about a meeting, and everything is a fire drill. Wouldn't recommend unless you need the money and can't find it elsewhere. High turnover by both people being fired and by people quitting should tell you all you need to know.

Toxic culture, over $2b in funding extinguished , class action suits pending

    Jun 26, 2022 - Sales Executive

    Pros

They compensated very well but stock options are now worthless and may be diluted again as cash in hand is just $200m with $80m/month burn rate. They finally acknowledged they need an infusion to continue.

    Cons

No financial controls and senior leadership is still intact after all the debacles they have gone thru. Relationships with the general contractors and glaziers is non-existent. They talk the talk the talk but can't walk the walk. No investment in their glass product and focus on building IT infrastructure which does not work.

    Best job ever

    Jan 28, 2022 - Vice President

    Pros

If you are ambitious, truly passionate about your work, and mission-driven, View checks all the boxes: Huge vision. Incredible product. Meaningful mission. Most talented and passionate team out there. Massive growth opportunities. This company hires for talent and drive over experience. If you have what it takes to take full advantage of that, the sky is the limit to what you can do. Competitive compensation and benefits.

    Cons

This is not a place for people who want to work less than 50-60 hours per week. People who have only worked at big companies will struggle here.
