I have been working at Warren CAT full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good Benefits
    Profit Sharing
    Competitive Pay
    Safety Minded
    Great People to work alongside
    Family Owned
The owners are here for the long haul.

    Cons

They do a lot of promoting outside of the company rather than internally.

    leading to the next con.

So many new managers with little technical knowledge of the products they are trying to support.

The profit sharing can seems to run off of some goofy math that is not published. But still better than a turkey and a swift kick in the junk.

    Three layoffs since 2009.

    Advice to Management

Take a longer look at the good people who have consistently been productive over many years before jumping outside of the company to fill these higher ranking positions. You might be surprised by their knowledge and ideas that can lead your company to be the Cat Dealership of Choice.

I have been working at Warren CAT full-time

    Pros

It is a good and stable company with room for improvement. Plenty of opportunity to grow and advance in the company. Flexible time.

    Cons

Pay is decent but not competitive with the area. Vacation time is accrued instead of applied each year. Management tends to not be accountable. Lots of inefficiencies.

    Advice to Management

A system of checks and balances needs to be implemented in the management level of the company.

10 year olds wet dream, tear stuff up, fix it and then play in the dirt

    Pros

Warren CAT is extremely family oriented. They truly care about each employee, and work hard to make day to day work pleasurable. When making decisions, they keep everyone's best interest in mind.

    Cons

The only con is that we are somewhat dependent on the oil and gas industry, but with our recent diversification, this is changing.

    Advice to Management

My only advice would be to let employees know ahead of time when something major is changing, or when something is coming up.

I worked at Warren CAT full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Depending on the department, some pretty amazing coworkers
Depending on the department, good teamwork that can make getting to know the job and product easy
Lots of employees who are happy to help answer questions
    Decent pay
    Great benefits
A good boss makes or breaks the job at Warren
Good company ideals (in theory, though rarely saw them practiced)

    Cons

Poor communication between departments which made getting dates and quotes to customers difficult
    Power plays between departments
Management looks out for only themselves and will snuff out any employees that could potentially rise to their position
Manager treated sales reps as completely replaceable
Little room for advancement if you have the wrong manager

    Advice to Management

Get inter-department communication down. The CSA department needs some SERIOUS work. Treat your employees with respect rather than as expendable.

I have been working at Warren CAT full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Executive Team (engaged Dealer Principal) and very knowledgeable Department Managers. Training and Development focus. Profit Sharing Bonus gives every employee a reason to work a little harder. Incredible Benefits (Health/Dental/Vision) with fair amount of time off (Vacation Increases w/ Years of Service/Sick Time/Holidays).

    Cons

Locations are primarily rural which means a bit longer commute. Profit Driven Company can sometimes focus too much on bottom-line.

    Advice to Management

Having consistency across all of the departments would greatly help reduce silos and communication gaps. Ensuring that accountability is a necessary skill for managers in safety, work, and budget as opposed to making exceptions.

  11. "Worste company to work for."

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Nothing about this company is a pro. Entire place is crooked

    Cons

Needs actual managers, not people with that title who have no clue how to manage.

    Advice to Management

    Clean house
