I have been working at WorkForce Software for more than a year

    Pros

Product Development is a smart team solving technical challenges and working on some cool innovations. Everyone wants to succeed and works together to get there rather than pitting against each other. Extremely flexible working environment. I really enjoy working at a software company whose products are used across the globe.

    Cons

Change can be hard but it is part of the company's growth.

    Advice to Management

Stay the course, remember what makes the company great.

    Pros

Great People. Very Nice culture if you enjoy lies, backstabbing, and ineptitude . Company claims there are no politics. How can that be when of the co-founders routinely publicly blamed all company problems on the sales team.

    Cons

The SAP reseller carrot vanished under managements collective noses and was a very poorly thought out and structured initiative. No real understanding of the business by core SAP Executive team dropped in by the VC's. Multiple defections continue.

    Advice to Management

Throw in the towel while you still have a towel to through.

I worked at WorkForce Software full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Free snacks, nice office, average benefits

    Cons

Continuous rounds of layoffs and hiring. Good people have left or been promoted, leaving excessive management and limited resources to actually accomplish anything. No long term vision or strategy since being sold to private investors.

    Advice to Management

Figure out what you're doing. Put a plan together with a long term vision and stick to it. Enable your top performers, cut the red tape, reduce ineffective management...

I have been working at WorkForce Software full-time

    Pros

Dedicated to employee enhancement. Can cross train, move to the best position for your skills and interest. Company is evolving fast and keeping up with technology and making work easier. Good visibility and direction. They care about their product, clients, and employees. Culture is great. Healthy work/life balance is achieveable.

    Cons

Typical cons of every workplace. Can easily overwork if you choose to.

    Advice to Management

I worked at WorkForce Software full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Mostly kind, professional, and helpful employees. "Unlimited" PTO. Low health insurance premiums. Family-feel. Lack of intra and inter departmental communication (silos), and top-down communication was improving, but was still bad.

    Cons

Low pay for software-engineering experience. High-quality, experienced, senior employees from the Livonia office were quitting at an alarming rate when I left. Several years of hiring frenzies followed by large lay-offs made me lose confidence in the senior leadership. The company's current drive is toward profitability after years of enjoying injections of funds from PE firm, which is understandable. However,...

    Advice to Management

The software you build takes a long time for a newly-hired functional or technical consultant to be come proficient in understanding and configuring solutions for clients. The learning-curve is not easy, even for very good employees. It was rumored that this isn't believed. After being in the role, mentoring and training others, it is not a lie to say newly-trained technical employees are often not very useful for the...

I worked at WorkForce Software full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The company creates a positive work environment; enough space so employees aren't cramped, competitive salary, flexible work schedule, unlimited PTO for exempt employees, healthy snacks, etc. Kind people, focus-driven, quality office atmosphere.

    Cons

Not a lot of transparency from upper management. They share a lot of information about company status, hold quarterly meetings, but at the end of the day nobody's position is really "safe." Employee turnover has increased exponentially over previous two years, and at all levels.

    Advice to Management

Take care of what takes care of you—your employees. Loyalty is a two-way street.

I worked at WorkForce Software full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

WorkForce provides an overall very pleasant work environment. As many other reviewers stated, there’s a lot of talent and generally good people within the organization. Everyone seemed to be simultaneously laidback and ambitious, driven, and intelligent. Work/life balance is pretty good, as is the benefits package. PTO is unlimited. I really liked my peers and manager. Our department was somewhat small, but there...

    Cons

Typical pains for someone in my line of work. I also do think they tried to fit the solution to meet any needs, rather than focusing on the strengths of a good solution. However, as I was leaving, they seemed to be working to improve that. I left due to the lack of growth opportunity for someone with my skill set, but again, was a satisfied employee. Also, some challenging growing pains financially. Again, seemed...
