Physically and mentally taxing on employees

Pros

The people that worked there before Danaher bought, the benefits are okay.

Cons

Absolutely no work-life balance. Managers make it clear that their precious bottom line should be your mission in life. Not that you'll see any of that bonus! Raises are garbage, the performance reviews are scaled from 1-5 and they tell you that a 3 is awarded for 100% effort, absolutely doing your expected duties correctly, etc. Raises are on par with review scores. It's another way they cut to profit, which is also a common theme. Whether it's people, resources, tooling, or time, you won't have enough. Write-ups for petty things are rampant.

Thanks for the feedback, sorry to hear your experience was negative. It's a high performance culture that pays for performance, but the experience for vast majority of people is very different than what you have described here. Especially as the company has evolved over the past couple of years. Our people are key to our success, and we'll continue to focus on that fact. Lots of great examples every day of good work life balance and very competitive pay and benefit structures.

Pros

It was a good company to work for before the Danaher merger. Most people were good to work with and for.

Cons

All employees being treated as a number. If you have a high income be prepared to be laid off. Only the people in there 20's are being promoted to higher positions. Management not willing to do mentor ships to advance with the company.

Not quite sure how to respond to this one, this just isn't factual. I encourage candidates to apply and check us out for yourself. Being part of Danaher allows us to have exceptional career growth for people who are interested, and we have strong career growth within the X-Rite Pantone company too.

No Work/life balance, and cliquish groups

Pros

It's a salary and a job.

Cons

No work/life balance, and not enough hours in the day to get it all done. I worked 10+ hours and weekends yet it wasn't enough or appreciated. Upper management was highly demanding however the metrics their tracking are not achievable. Company is all about the $, not people. A good tip, keep to yourself as the company culture is very unstable with throwing people under the bus, and slander to HR. This seemed to be the norm to involve HR, and I was told by several that had been in the company for years - don't trust anyone as there are no real friends there. X-Rite is not who they used to be years back 10 years ago. You will notice cliquish groups gossiping and not working however this is very normal to X-Rite however unprofessional and misguided.

We're a hard working organization, but the continuous improvement culture is one that focuses on finding ways to improve processes which means that we're usually looking for ways to work smarter, not harder. We set the bar high because it challenges us to think of new ways to achieve things. We have low employee attrition and very good employee engagement results, two of the things we measure. From time to time HR does help people out with resolving differences, but it's not needed very often, as people tend to get along well. I don't know the specifics of your situation, but feel free to send me a note or give me a call, or use the Speak Up lines if you want to raise an issue so we can help get it resolved. What you are describing is not typical.
