I have been working at aeSolutions full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Has been transparent with employees on outlook and required measures for success during the pandemic. Great career growth opportunities across multiple lines of process safety and automation groups. Holds strong quality and process safety values in the work employees do. Happy to be an employee here.

    Cons

Bidding for jobs sometimes leads to skinny project budgets, but it would seem that's more a reflection of consulting in general than aeSolutions.

I have been working at aeSolutions full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good people, good collaboration within work teams, and good technical opportunities for new and experienced workers.

    Cons

Lack of good management, misdirected initiatives (trying the same thing year after year in new packaging), silo mentality between offices, no unifying Vision, blame culture, executives are in the 'weeds' doing technical work (instead of managing), upper management group think, no fresh ideas. There is no strong Leader at AE driving a sustainable culture.

    January 20, 2020President

Thank you for the candid feedback. I agree with you that our technical acumen sets us apart. In fact, most of our executive and senior leaders are professional engineers with deep domain expertise. This can be a positive because they understand the technical challenges our team members face. It can also be a negative when they engage too deeply in the details. Striking a healthy balance here is an important focus for us. I also recognize the importance of sustaining a positive culture. To this end I was very excited to share our 2020 strategic Vision with the company last week. If you missed that presentation it is now available on our internal communications site. It is important to me that our future be shaped through the feedback and buy-in of stakeholders throughout all levels of our organization, so if you have questions or input I urge you to use our open door policy and discuss them with your manager or with me directly. Thank you. -Ken O'Malley, President

    aeSolutions Response

    May 20, 2019President

aeSolutions recently conducted an employee survey which garnered an 81% response rate and an overall 79% positive feedback score. Our employees submitted comments both on areas where we are excelling, as well as helpful, constructive, and detailed feedback on areas where we can improve. We are already acting on much of this feedback, and I’m grateful for those employees that took the time to share their perspectives and opinions. I am also always eager to hear feedback outside of formal settings, and encourage all employees to speak up to managers and senior and executive leaders in order for us to continue to grow and improve. Unfortunately, the feedback provided here is neither helpful nor constructive, so there is little we can do to address it. I am sorry that your time at aeSolutions has not been satisfying or rewarding for you, and based on the details provided here it sounds like you are no longer excited about being part of the aeSolutions team. I would urge you to consider whether it would be healthier for you to seek employment elsewhere, as the job market is very strong for the caliber of engineers aeSolutions employs and develops. I sincerely hope that you are able to find a better experience in the future. -Ken O'Malley President

I have been working at aeSolutions full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

-Great people to work with (some of the best) -Lots of opportunities for cross-training -Many opportunities for internal promotions or transfers -Formal training readily available when the company is doing well -Flexible scheduling -Straight time over time (if you are highly billable)

    Cons

-Bonuses are non-existent -Bonus structure is based only on how the company does, not your division or personal performance -Benefits and 401k contributions are mediocre compared others in the industry -New "initiatives" that rarely lead to any benefit and constant re-orgs

I have been working at aeSolutions full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Amazing company, friendly atmosphere, plenty opportunities for learning, big bosses are friendly. I love to be able to just walk in to Mike Scott or Ken O'Malley, ask technical questions, get help needed. Company gives plenty flexibility with work time so I can put my family first. Extra efforts are appreciated but you do not feel forced to do it . I am receiving plenty of training and learning opportunities to be able move up in rank and responsibilities.

    Cons

Occasional disonnect in information sharing between offices but currently efforts are in place to improve it.

I have been working at aeSolutions full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The things I treasure most about this company are its people, its transparency, its one team motto that is inclusive of every employee, and the daily display of dedication from upper management and owners to the employees and the success of this company.

    Cons

I view the cons around here as I view them in my marriage, as long as they don't outweigh the good there's no need mentioning them.

I have been working at aeSolutions full-time for more than a year

    Pros

aeSolutions provides a positive and professional work environment with great opportunities for training and advancement. Executive management is very approachable and open to new ideas and processes for improvement. Unlike many similar organizations, aeSolutions encourages its employees to provide feedback and is genuinely interested in knowing what employees think and feel. There are regularly scheduled employee appreciation events, family-friendly recreational opportunities, annual company-wide fitness challenge, and free biometric wellness screenings available to employees and their families. aeSolutions is in tune with its corporate responsibility as a community partner with multiple non-profits including Meals on Wheels, Toys for Tots, The Blood Connection, Hands on Greenville, and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

    Cons

As a Project Administrative Assistant there are times when urgent reports, trainings, and critical deadlines can cause some stress, which is manageable and to be expected in this position from time to time.

I worked at aeSolutions full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great co-workers, everyone is very knowledgeable and professional. Easy to get along with.

    Cons

You have to pay your expenses out of pocket, and hope you get repaid before your bill comes due. They only pay expenses on payday, and wait until the last minute to process, if there are any errors, they pretend they are helping you out, to get paid back in 3 weeks or more. Middle management is decent, but upper management is does not except criticism very well. It's their way or no way.

    March 29, 2018Human Resources Manager

Thank you for your recent review. I am very proud of the team we have at aeSolutions, and pleased to know that you also found your former co-workers to be knowledgeable and professional. Unfortunately it appears you disagreed with some aspects of our expense reimbursement process. I believe that our practice of paying submitted and approved expenses biweekly combined with the many, many resources that are available to assist employees makes our process a robust and fair one, and I always strive to make myself available to answer questions or provide clarification when employees are unclear about policies. Feedback on policies and procedures is also always welcome and accepted when presented in a constructive and collaborative manner. I’d urge any employee – current or former – who wishes to share feedback in that manner to contact me directly. Our goal with any policy is to treat the employee and the company fairly and in such a way that we are able to find success together. Ben Krisher Manager, Human Resources
