We stand with our Black colleagues, their families, and everyone affected by recent events. "None of us can deliver our full potential at work if we are not secure in our neighborhoods outside of work." Read the full letter from our CEO, Bob Bradway, below.
Meet our colleague Ida Sooksaman. At the beginning of the shelter-in-place orders in Los Angeles, she started a neighborhood grocery run for a few of her senior neighbors who are unable to drive or leave their homes by setting up online deliveries and delivering what she can herself (while practicing social distancing). This act of kindness during a challenging time has brought her community together. Thank you for all you do, Ida.
At 18 years old, Senior Talent Acquisition Manager Carmen Vázquez knew she wanted to do something meaningful with her life. Growing up in a mountain town in Puerto Rico, graduating college was the privilege of few at the time. But, these humble beginnings ultimately propelled her to a long-term career where she helps others achieve their goals and explore opportunities for growth. “I am so grateful that I made it and that the years of experience in the temporary employment industry helped me reach my ultimate goal: to work and serve in a company that strives every day to provide a better quality of life for so many patients in Puerto Rico and around the world.” Explore careers.amgen.com to live out a purposeful career.
The way we work may change, but that doesn't mean we can't keep forwarding our mission. "The journey to attract talent to Amgen doesn’t stop just because we can’t meet in person," said Anette Gillian from #AmgenUK, who shared a photo of her home office where she continues to connect with candidates virtually. "Using video calling as often as possible helps you to stay connected to people and has been a really good tool for interviews. We continue to hold interviews, replacing the classic face-to-face interviews and assessment centres with video conferencing. It works really well and has ensured our work continues and is business as usual.” Explore careers.amgen.com to discover how you can make a difference to patients around the world.
40 years ago, Amgen was born. Although the world looks vastly different now than it did in 1980, our mission of serving patients has never wavered. Take a trip back in time to see what was happening when we entered the new world of biotechnology in April 1980: https://bit.ly/2RmOPTM. #LifeAtAmgen
