Congratulations to the Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute venous and lymphatic team for achieving another major milestone. On November 3, Dr. Erin Murphy and team were the first in the country to commercially implant the ABRE venous self-expanding stent. “Our clinical teams are dedicated to delivering the latest technology to our patients in the region,” said Dr. Murphy. “Offering the newly FDA approved venous stent is one example of how we’re moving the venous field forward – people don’t have to travel far to receive innovative treatment options.” After the procedure at Atrium Health Pineville, the patient is thriving. This achievement comes on the heels of Dr. Murphy’s work as co-global principal investigator of Medtronic’s ABRE IDE study.
On Veterans Day, we want to thank all veterans, and the nearly 2,000 National Guard members, Reservists and veterans that we call teammates.
