Later this year, Anaheim-based nonprofit Access California Services will be moving to a new, more spacious location. But first, renovations need to be made to better meet the organization’s needs. As part of Capital Group’s #CapitalCares initiative, the organizers of Irvine Community Action Day were eager to lend a hand. On August 16, 25 volunteers converged on the new property, volunteering their time to clean, build, repair and paint. The group is pictured here in front of a mural they created as part of the project. ©CapitalGroup

In July, five Capital Group associates had the honor of attending the LGBTQ Executive Leadership Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. As part of the program, the group was able to work on developing their personal leadership skills and learn from others. Coming out of the event, the group shared their collective thoughts: “This program allowed us to think about who we are as LGBTQ leaders and how our community is challenged in the labor market. We feel responsible for continuing to drive awareness, remove barriers and build bridges for others who may not have had the same opportunities.” ©CapitalGroup

When Mini Kang first read about Capital Group’s Summer Associate Program, she was intrigued. “I honestly read ‘Legal and Compliance,’ and I knew legal, but I didn’t know what compliance was. So out of fascination, I clicked on it, and the description seemed really interesting,” she explained. Although Mini was born in South Korea and has lived in four different countries, she calls Los Angeles home. She is currently an international relations major at the University of Washington, Seattle but aspires to attend law school. ©CapitalGroup
