Camille Teixeira, an Information Security Specialist here at Citizens, was born and raised in Bristol, RI, home of the oldest running Fourth of July Celebration in the country. Her family has been involved in the celebration for as long as she can remember. Her love for her hometown is apparent to all, so it is no surprise that after ten years of volunteering her time to the Fourth of July Committee, she would be elected Vice Chairman to plan the famous Bristol Fourth of July Parade. We sat down with Camille to learn more about how she is helping to strengthen the community where she lives and works.

We celebrate, honor, and reflect on the gravity of Juneteenth also known as “Freedom Day”. African Americans have celebrated the commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States since the late 1800’s. In honor of Juneteenth next week, we will observe Monday, June 20, 2022 as an official bank holiday and will sponsor meaningful community events and celebrations with our nonprofit partners in Boston, Buffalo, Cleveland, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. By working toward a world where everyone is seen, heard and respected, we are helping those we serve be ready for the best possible tomorrow.
