David, Lab Supervisor Hi, I’m David, and I’m a laboratory supervisor at Cone Health. I started here as a traveler, but the camaraderie, professionalism and support I found in the lab made it an easy choice to stay full-time. Lab work might be behind the scenes, but it’s essential. We’re often the first to detect diseases like leukemia or sickle cell, giving physicians the information they need to treat patients. Every test result matters, and at Cone Health, so do the people who run them. Here, we genuinely care about each other and celebrate life’s moments together. It’s more than a workplace; it’s a community. Every day, I get to make a difference while working with a team that feels like family.
Qwanita, Practice Leader II Hi, I’m Qwanita. I’m a Practice Leader II at Cone Health, but my journey here started when I decided to return to health care after raising my family. I began as a clinical medical assistant and found a place that supported me through every step. Programs like the CMA Academy and Rise Program helped me grow into my leadership role. As a mom of three, I’m proud to show my kids that it’s never too late to reach for more, especially in a place that lives its values every day. My heart is in pediatrics. I love making sure every child feels heard and valued. If you’re ready to grow, know that at Cone Health, support and opportunity are always waiting for you.
Kelly, RN Hi, I’m Kelly. I’m an emergency department nurse at Cone Health, and I’ve been here for 44 years. I first walked through these doors during my clinicals and knew right away this was where I belonged. It’s a supportive, compassionate place where teamwork, mentorship and respect for every patient aren’t just words, they’re how we work every day. What’s kept me here isn’t just the work. It’s the people. We see every patient as an individual, bring their families into the conversation and pull together as a team no matter the challenge. Cone Health has made it possible for me to keep that balance between my career and my life, whether I was leaving for a mission trip, caring for my grandchild, or facing personal challenges. For me, nursing here isn’t a job. It’s love, purpose and a bond with this community that’s lasted a lifetime.
Gaye, RN (Mother-Baby) Hi, I’m Gaye. I’ve been with Cone Health for 24 years, starting as a certified nursing assistant while studying business. Caring for patients inspired me to change course and pursue nursing, first as an LPN, then RN and now with a master’s degree in nursing. Today, I work nights on the Mother-Baby Unit guiding parents through some of their most important and sometimes most challenging moments. The teamwork here is incredible. We’re diverse, compassionate and united by our commitment to patient care. What’s kept me here is the support. Cone Health’s flexibility and opportunities for advancement have allowed me to grow as a nurse and as a teacher at a local university. I’m proud to care for families in my community while showing the next generation of nurses what’s possible.
Eric, Pharmacy Technician Hi, I’m Eric. I’m a certified pharmacy technician at Cone Health, but before this I worked in health information management, a desk job where I sat all day. I knew I wanted something more active and more connected to patient care. That’s when I enrolled in Cone Health’s accredited Pharmacy Academy, an intensive three-month program that prepared me for this role. Now, I handle everything from IV compounding to medication delivery and I know my work directly supports patients and their care teams. What I’ve found here is community. Leadership invests in us, mentors guide us and there’s always opportunity to grow. I don’t see myself in management, but I’m proud to become the kind of reliable teammate others can count on.
Mason, Program Coordinator Hi, I’m Mason, and I’m a Program Coordinator with Digital Consumer Growth at Cone Health. I first joined the organization through an internship, which led to a full-time role, and it’s been a rewarding journey ever since. In my role, I manage scheduling, train staff and help patients, particularly senior citizens, navigate tools like MyChart to make healthcare easier to understand and more accessible. The work is personal to me, and I’ve found Cone Health’s culture of support, collaboration and care has helped me grow both professionally and personally, even while balancing graduate studies. Looking ahead, I hope to continue leading, making an impact and serving the community through my work. At Cone Health, every role is meaningful and every day offers an opportunity to help people in tangible ways.
Amber X-ray Technologist Hi, I’m Amber, and I’m an X-ray technologist currently cross-training in CT at Cone Health. I’ve been here almost three years. Before health care, I worked as a waitress for 10 years and I always knew I wanted a job where I could help people and interact directly with them. I discovered Cone Health during my clinical training and it felt like the right environment from the beginning. Cone Health has a supportive, family-like culture and teamwork is essential here. In my role, I perform a wide range of imaging procedures from cancer screenings and biopsies to emergency room scans. My favorite part of the job is patient care and creating images that help diagnose and guide treatment. One thing I value is the opportunity for growth. Radiology has multiple certification pathways like X-ray, CT and MRI. Having those options keeps me moving forward in my career.
Mikel, Nurse Tech III Hi, I’m Mikel, and I’m a Nurse Tech III at Cone Health. I transitioned from long-term care into the hospital setting after encouragement from friends. I joined Cone Health through the Nurse Tech Academy. The academy played a huge role in helping me gain the skills I needed and made the transition feel manageable and supportive. What I appreciate most here is the teamwork. I’ve seen firsthand how staff and leadership step in, not just to support patients but to support one another. When leadership is willing to get on the floor and help, it shows that we’re all working toward the same goal. After losing my father to a stroke, I became motivated to learn more about neurology and caring for patients who have experienced similar situations. My goal is to become a neuro nurse and being here has helped me take steps toward that path.
Scarlett, RN For Scarlett, nursing wasn’t just a career decision — it was a commitment to the community she has always called home. Born and raised in Greensboro, Scarlett knew Cone Health was where she wanted to make a difference. What began as a summer nurse externship quickly grew into something bigger: meaningful mentorships, a supportive team, and a clear path to becoming the nurse she always hoped to be. Today, as a registered nurse in the Cone Health Emergency Department, Scarlett is exactly where she belongs. Working in the ED means no two days look the same — and that’s what she loves most. Whether calming a fearful patient, supporting a family on their hardest day, or collaborating with colleagues in high‑stakes moments, Scarlett finds purpose in being the reassuring presence people need when life feels overwhelming. Cone Health’s commitment to her growth has shaped her journey from student to confident clinician. Through the Nurse Extern Program, the New Grad Residency, and continuous mentorship, she’s felt supported every step of the way — academically, professionally, and personally. And when the days are tough, she knows she has both the resources and the relationships to take care of herself, so she can take the best care of others. At Cone Health, Scarlett isn’t just part of a team. She’s surrounded by people who invest in her success, cheer her on, and feel like family. Here, she’s supported. She’s valued. And she’s right where she’s meant to be.
Mollie, Practice Leader III For Mollie, health care isn’t just a job — it’s a calling. As a Practice Leader with Cone Health, Mollie’s days are rooted in one simple mission: delivering the most compassionate, high-quality care possible — and making sure patients choose Cone Health because they want to, not because they have to. Every day, she helps create an environment where patients feel seen, supported, and empowered to return to the lives and communities they love. And in doing so, she’s found something equally meaningful: a way to give back to the community that raised her. What sets Cone Health apart, Mollie says, is its people — passionate, dedicated, and deeply human. Colleagues who challenge one another to ask why we do what we do. Mentors who share wisdom. Teams who push each other to do better — not because they have to, but because patients deserve it. At Cone Health, care feels local. It feels human. And for Mollie, it feels exactly like where she’s meant to be.
