Kurt Auzins of Cox Automotive Mobility Fleet Services recently received The Anne Cox Chambers Award, which recognizes Cox employees who are making a positive impact through volunteerism and community service. Kurt restores and gives away bicycles to kids in underserved communities. During the 10 years he’s been doing this work, Kurt estimates he’s given away between 300 and 400 bicycles — including more than 100 in the past year. Congrats, Kurt!

04/03/2023 Kurt Auzins has never forgotten that day in the late-'70s. He was 11 years old and about to start junior high school when a girl who was headed to college gave him her high-end 10-speed bicycle. "That bicycle became my pride and joy," Kurt recalled. "It became my means of transportation."

The future of work continues to be hot topic. Although many front-line workers — such as our own vehicle technicians and retail store employees — haven’t had the option of remote work, others have added more flexibility to their roles. While some companies have in-person work mandates for office employees, here at Cox, we have only one mandate: to put people first. We trust our people to do their jobs in a flexible work environment where possible, while also making time to connect in-person. Recently, Cox Enterprises Chairman and CEO Alex Taylor shared a message with Cox employees about our culture of trust.
