Say hello to Stephen, one of our staff engineers for our Real-Time Communication (RTC) infrastructure team. His team manages servers used to host voice and video calls – basically deciding where to place thousands of calls across the world. No stranger to Discord, Stephen was an avid user long before he started working with us, and he uses Discord when he’s on and off the clock – whether it’s to connect with friends about Formula 1 racing or to talk about grocery shopping with his wife. Nearing four years of working with us, Stephen reflects on the meaningful impact Discord has had in his life: “I love working at Discord just as much as I did the first day. I’m happy to say that the sheen hasn’t worn off of the honeymoon phase of working at a place. Even with the company getting bigger I’ve always enjoyed working at Discord and felt valued working here.” No honeymoon phases here – just meaningful work with some amazing people.
