Ever wonder how to add your current location or address as a favourite? In Grab, we constantly aim to improve the accuracy of Point Addresses and Places Of Interests(POIs). However, such accuracy requires local knowledge and expertise. We believe you know best about the places you live in or the popular places you hang out at. So who better to to ask than you! Adding/Favouriting a location or address allows you to be able to bookmark it so it's much quicker to find while searching. Less time mapping equals hitting the road sooner, which also means getting to your destination quicker! Add A Place now using GrabAddAPlace! Ever wondered how Grab protects your personal data? Suchit Mishra, Head of Information Security at Grab shares how Grab adopts detective measures rather than preventive ones to deter cyber threats. We take a multi-pronged approach in our defence. Using internal incident reporting & Grab’s bug bounty programme, they are integrated onto a dashboard to help our security engineers patch those cyber gaps. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQ1OV #Grab #DrivingSEAForward #IntellectualRigour
Let's find out what a SysOps Engineer does at Grab from Dheeraj Joshi: "I am in charge of being a middleman between the developer and the system operations team. When the developer has a design in mind, my role is to consult between the two parties. I am responsible for seeing what the developer wants and seeing if system operations are able to produce it. Grab gives me an exciting experience, there is always a new problem everyday. In Grab, it’s all about critical thinking and growth, there are always new challenges for you to take and new insights for you to learn. Grab has a friendly environment, you can literally talk to anyone here and they are willing to share their knowledge with you." #Grab #DrivingSEAForward #GrabFriendsForever #GrabbersShare
Grab Thailand Mapathon is a wrap! Organised by our Thailand Map Ops Team and OpenStreetMap (OSM) Instructor Mishari Muqbil on 7th July, the mini-indoor mapathon was held to introduce an overview of OpenStreetMap to all attendees. The mapathon also shared how communities can support mapping activities in their daily life using the Mapillary tool and other mapping activities that everyone can be involved in! We are stoked at the turnout of 70 attendees (parents and kids, Thai GIS community and Universities)! A total of 166 change sets were contributed, with 135 change sets rated as high quality. It was indeed a great bonding and cozy sharing session for the Thailand OSM community. A huge shout-out to Pimlada and her team for the awesome work and all the Grabbers who supported in this Mapathon! #Grab #DrivingSEAForward #OutserveOurCustomers
What's the culture like at Grab? Today, we get Software Engineer, Ashutosh Shah, to share his thoughts! "I am responsible for software development, securing the software, and preventing cases of fraud or misuse of data across the company. Grab has a friendly work environment and a welcoming culture, giving its employees a work life balance. With Grab’s modern technology and fast-paced life, I not only grow in my skills but also as a person. My experience in Grab has been enjoyable so far, as I get to work with people of different backgrounds." #Grab #DrivingSEAForward #GrabFriendsForever #GrabbersShare
Our biggest ever hackathon in Grab – the Widgethon – was a splendid success! Last week, 80 teams of Grabbers from different backgrounds (both tech and non-tech) worked hard to build their prototypes over 2 days and presented their amazing widget ideas for Grab Daily! Some even stayed overnight to churn out working prototypes over Redbull and snacks. The Widgethon generated so many great ideas that our judges had a really tough time picking the winners. However, we believe every participant deserves a huge applause, for his/her contribution to Grab to better serve our customers as an everyday app. Stay tuned for exciting changes in our Grab app soon! #Grab #DrivingSEAForward #DisruptOrBeDisrupted #IntellectualRigour
