The team scores again! We’re excited to announce Hotwire won EyeForTravel’s 2015 Travel Award for “Best Mobile Travel User Experience!” Over 15,000 people in the travel industry voted to select eight finalists; Hotwire was selected in the Mobile UX category. During the award ceremony, our very own VP of Product, Eachan Fletcher, delivered a five minute pitch detailing why our app should win. We were judged on categories including technology, usability, graphic design, strategy, challenges and results. Congrats to the entire Hotwire team on this terrific win!
This weekend the Hotwire and Expedia Affiliate Network teams participated in the University of Washington’s Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) Conference. WiSE supports over 1,500 women studying engineering and computer science at UW. In the past three years, 23% of the UW engineering and computer science grads were women – compared to the 18.5% nationally. Let the climb begin! Our Hotwire team was excited to participate in the San Francisco Stairing is Caring event, where teams of 2 took turns climbing up and down a set of stairs for 45 minutes to help raise money for SF charities including the San Francisco- Marin Food bank. Our Hotwire climbers took 62,673 steps and raised $4,954.00! Way to go team!
