Infinera India Hosts Premier League 2023 Annual Cricket Tournament - Cricket made a grand comeback in 2023 at Infinera India. Happening after a break of three years due to the pandemic, the tournament lived up to all the hype around it and then some more. With 15 matches over the two weekends, the players' fitness levels also were put under pressure playing in such hot conditions. But the enthusiasm and the passion for the game kept everyone on their toes throughout the whole thing. Right from interns to directors, everyone showed great energy, with some even putting their bodies on the line. The number of close matches this year made the tournament even more thrilling, with the teams hardly giving anything away to the opposition. The joy of sport brought everyone together in a way only sport can. The Infinera Tuskers were crowned the champions with our second team, The Hardware Hammers winning as runners up.
Infinera is proud to partner with international children’s charity Street Child to renovate a school in the Kalobeyei refugee settlement in Kenya. Find out more about this project, now complete, in a new post from Neil Sugden on the Infinera blog

On Friday afternoon, September 23, our hearty Canadians braved the second day of fall to attend the event hosted by our Employee Engagement Committee. They donned their pre-winter gear, took up their clubs, and hit the links. Through the wind and cold (13◦ C, 55◦ F), 85 souls braved the weather, and judging by all the laughter on the course, a good time was had by all. We are happy to report that there were no tantrums or thrown clubs – everyone was on their best behavior. At the end of the tournament in an informal ceremony, a few awards were handed out just for fun. The awards went to the following people:
In August, Infinera was pleased to host in-person social events at two of our U.S. locations. Allentown, PA hosted a summer BBQ event to acknowledge how our team seamlessly navigated the challenges of the pandemic and never limited the company due to shutdowns. The event was catered by local favorite Atomic Hogs BBQ, and attendees played a variety of lawn games including Jenga, cornhole, basketball, and frisbee. On August 16, Bay Area employees were invited to a welcome back and opening of our new San Jose site, where they had the opportunity to eat, and socialize. Many employees got to tour the San Jose office for the very first time and see our fantastic new set up, including a fitness center and café. Lunch was catered by La Carreta Tacos and dessert by Rocko’s Ice Cream Tacos.
Infinera employees in the Richardson, TX office hosted a food drive from June 13 to 20 the benefit the North Texas Food Bank. They collected a total of 206 pounds of food, which equated to 172 meals.
