To honor Black History Month, Lazard's Black and African American Employees Affinity Group hosted a conversation with Lazard Co-Chairman of Investment Banking Bill Lewis and Director Osifo Akhuemonkhan. Mr. Lewis discussed his career path, civic leadership endeavors, and the future of diversity in financial services. As an active community leader, Mr. Lewis currently serves on the boards of several nonprofit organizations, including Uncommon Schools, and in the past, he has worked with the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and A Better Chance.
Our São Paulo colleagues strike a pose after competing in the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay. Lazard's runners sprinted around a one-mile route in the Parque do Povo, located near the heart of São Paulo's financial district. Runners’ entry fees benefited Instituto Esporte & Educação.
Lazard recently held its 2019 Americas Women in Banking Conference in New York, with over 90 women from 13 offices in attendance. This year's theme was "Being Herself.” Attendees took part in workshops on establishing an authentic professional presence, small-group discussions on leadership and feedback, and forums for dialogue between bankers of all levels to share insights.
