This Pride Month we are taking a moment to acknowledge our LGBTQ+ Business Resource Group (BRG)! This internal BRG is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment at Lincoln for those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or other, and for our allies and colleagues. This year the BRG kicked off an internal weekly article series around the history of Pride, starting with 1969 Stonewall riots in NYC, an uprising led by black and brown transgender and queer people. This is just one way the BRG always seeks to educate employees to continue to foster an inclusive work environment. The BRG and MAC also hosted an enterprise event "A Story of Trans Joy" on June 14, shawndeez, PhD (they/them), a lecturer in UCLA's Department of Gender Studies. Deeply honest and intimate, this talk offered an opportunity for folks to grasp the depths of a trans experience and how to show up as sincere, informed and supportive allies. Throughout Pride Month, the BRG has provided the most up to date information about where employees can go to celebrate Pride in their communities and our key city locations. Be on the lookout for some familiar Lincoln faces in your local Pride parades and festivities!
We closed out Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month by highlighting our Asian American Business Resource Group (BRG). The mission of the BRG is to support our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, for Asian Americans in the workplace, marketplace and community. The BRG celebrates throughout the year with various events, including a partnership with our Multicultural Awareness Committee to honor the Lunar New Year. In celebration of AAPI Heritage Month, the BRG and employees in our headquarters created a team for the Dragon Boat Race that takes place in Philadelphia on June 3! Dragon Boat Racing is an ancient competition thought to date back more than 2,500 years having originated in southern Central China. We will be cheering them on! The Asian American BRG also hosted a signature event this month featuring Ms. Lei Wang, the first Asian woman to complete the Explorers Grand Slam which includes climbing the seven summits and skiing to the north and south poles! Ms. Wang shared her extraordinary journey to inspire our employees to dream big, realize their full
This past weekend was the 6th Annual Eagles Autism Challenge at Lincoln Financial Field! As the founding sponsor, our employees came out in full force raising over $100k (and counting!) and got together to walk, run, and ride for autism awareness, research, and community programs! We are so proud of #TeamLincoln, and grateful to have such an incredible partner in the Philadelphia Eagles, who continue to make a difference in our community.
What could be better than a surprise visit to our headquarters from Eagles defensive end, Brandon Graham?! His appearance helped us continue to raise awareness and funds for the Eagles Autism Challenge! As the presenting sponsor for six years running, we are devoted to helping our partners, the Philadelphia Eagles, raise funds for Autism research and community programs.
