The Patriot Racing Team (PRT) from Bob Jones High School briefed the Huntsville Office on 17 Jan. They provided details of their accomplishments since their last presentation back in Feb of 2018. Last year of the two race teams (Red and Blue), the Red team (also known as The Flash) won the overall championship in 2018. Blue team (also known as The Rival) struggled with some car issues during the 2018 race season but they learned from those challenges. Last year the cars competed in the same race category as custom. This year the PRT decided to spit the cars into two different race divisions. The Red team races in the custom division while the Blue team races in the Kit-Modified. This allows the teams to compete in different categories vice head to head in the same division. Additionally since each division has their specific rules and regulations for car design and build, it allows the teams to experiment with their car designs in different ways thereby expanded the STEM education. In the 2019 season, they have competed in two races and each team won their division in both races.
