MemorialCare’s Long Beach Medical Center, Orange Coast Medical Center, and Saddleback Medical Center have earned the 2023 CNOR® Strong designation from the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI). This is the ninth year Orange Coast Medical Center has earned the CNOR Strong Designation, the fifth year Saddleback Medical Center, and the eighth year for Long Beach Medical Center. “We are incredibly proud to have earned the CNOR Strong Designation system-wide for all of the adult-focused hospitals in our health system,” said Shela Kaneshiro, chief clinical transformation officer, MemorialCare. “Our nursing teams provide the highest standard of patient care, and this recognition is a testament to their hard work and dedication. This designation tells our patients that they are receiving care from some of the most skilled and knowledgeable perioperative nursing teams in the region.” The CNOR Strong Designation is given to hospitals and medical centers having at least 50% of the operating room nursing staff CNOR certified and provides programs that reward and recognize its certified nurses. CNOR Strong is a program that recognizes healthcare organizations and individual nurses who have demonstrated their knowledge and expertise in perioperative (surgical) nursing.
